Crimson Company Blockades 4/8

Cronus 04-07-2023 15:19

The Crimson Company, a hardened band of Mercenaries who've become disgruntled with the status-quo of Imperial Marine life, have decided to offer their services for blockades. What better way to kick this off than to attack a Ringer held island? Contrary to their generally merciless reputation, this blockade will be non-sinking.

Come take part in this multi-round extravaganza of carnage, PoE, and Rum spice. Regardless of your flag or crew size, there’s something here for everyone. Plus, it will be fun!

When: 4/8 @ 12 pm Pirate Time

Where: Emerald: Lincoln

Round 1: Influencers Gotta Influence This is a traditional blockade style where your points matter. Get in there with your flag and rack up points to earn enough Rum Spice to dive into, Scrooge McDuck style.

  • 1st: 1500 Rum spice
  • 2nd: 1000 Rum spice
  • 3rd: 750 Rum spice
  • Bonus: OMs may lay a few eggs. We suggest you use your funniest named ships to grab their attention. If you see an OM sailing, we suggest you sink them.
After the blockade is over, royals of the flags winning prizes should file a petition requesting their Rum spice. Please include the name of the ship you’d like it delivered on (make sure it can hold it) and the island it’s ported on. The Rum spice will be delivered over the course of the next few days.

Round 2: Free-For-All Treasure Haul In an effort to appease the Crimson Company, Ocean Masters will spawn treasure points around the map to haul. Compete against other flags and a few (cheating) OMs to haul from treasure spots added to the board. The bigger the wreck, the more loot you can haul!

Please be aware that the placement of these wrecks is somewhat random, and the Ocean Master on duty is NOT reviewing the blockade board before placing them. Will treasure end up at your enemy's feet, in a cluster of rocks, in a whirlpool, or at your feet? Who knows! But there will be several wrecks for you to haul up.

Mercenaries do take a cut of hauled-up treasure; however, they’re lazy and won't do the hauling themselves. It’s up to you to balance your ship with players and mercenaries to fill your hold and get out safely.

Be aware that if at any point it’s clear there is not enough competition on the board, a BK may take the opportunity to enter the board.

Note: The primary goal of this event is to test mercenaries in blockades and test some new options for OMs to use in events. There is a real possibility that something will go wrong during the event. This is why we have limited the event to one ocean. If there is a problem, we’ll resolve it to the best of our ability and may need to end the event early. We hope that after this testing, this may be something we can bring to all oceans more regularly. Thank you in advance for understanding any hiccups we have along the way.
