zomg... must... Doodle... - contest now closed Honorable mentions go to Therunt, Domokun, Nordenx, Dexla, Prita, Sancha, Pareia, Pletoo and Bisquick. Chocorose gets a loud groan. Rhodin made me laugh a lot. In very close runner-up spot was Deedeeiam of Sage. Today's winners are Lorenith and Gwiddon, both from Sage. They both win a renamed sloop. Not the same one, obviously. December 19 - Moving Pictures Contest opens now! Contest closes at midnight in around 24 hours. Today's challenge is a variant on one run in a previous December Daily Doodles. Your challenge today is to alter an existing design. You will need to choose a movie poster, and alter it to fit a new theme. I'd like you to take the original poster design and adapt it to make it relevant either to pirates or to fish or to both. You may not choose an original movie poster that already has a clear pirate or fish theme. You may use any appropriate software you want to do this. You may change the text and the graphics as necessary to make the theme either piratey or fishy. You can find images of movie posters easily enough on the internet (e.g. image search on Google or via the movie's page on imdb.com). Find a version that is big enough to work on comfortably. This time, I need you to post a link to the original image as well as posting your new version of it. The most successful entries will be the ones that retain the overall style and appearance of the original while fitting the new theme. If you want to include your image in your post, it should be 600 x 600 pixels or smaller, and should be in .jpg or .png format. If it is larger, or in a different format, please host the image elsewhere and post a link to it in your entry post. As a reminder, please read the general rules before posting. Start your post with your pirate name and ocean, followed by a link to the original image, then post your own image or a link to it. Go Doodle! |

Rhodin Viridian Oh, it might be over the deadline, but there's no way in hell that I'm not posting this. You see, the real problem is scheduling. This was done on the wrong day. I can do what I please while jello sets, and it takes all of 20 minutes to scribble on a candleholder and take pictures. But, when it comes to describing the things I have to go through to post a doodle, well, now that takes a whole weekend. I didn't even start exporting the PNGs until after 3! Anyway, my problem is that some of my alts, er, object to my posting all blonde, well-tanned doodles. So, I made a doodle so big that I had to carve it into 3 separate images. First , second , third . I should have so asked if sprites were allowed. If this were a sprite comic, I'd have had it done in 3 hours, tops. Pirate: Hawkings Ocean: Viridian The Hunt for Red October The Hunt for Golden Shiner The backstory to this poster, for those old enough to remember, is that back in 2005, Dionysus hosted a series of Treasure Ship runs across all the oceans. This poster commerates that event and if your Forum Search Fu is hot, you'll find that the ship name I used in the poster was named the Golden Shiner and used by Midas on Viridian.
