Congratulations! You have successfully prevented Brynhild Skullsplitter from gaining a permanent foothold on the oceans! So thoroughly have you driven her off that the other Brigand Kings have become dispirited and begun to rethink their role in the oceans. Inside sources report that they plan to lessen their efforts on the more established oceans, but they will test their mettle on Malachite which no longer will go untouched by their blockades. Lets us all hope they are content with that... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Artemis at Sep 25, 2008 8:13:19 AM] |

Inside sources report that the Society of BKs (SOB) have put blockades on hold. BK minions refused to comment further on this withdrawal but have assured us that this is only temporary. Although we have had a few anonymous reports of some strange new orange containers in the BKs' private quarters it is yet unknown whether this is related to the recent withdrawal. (BK Blockades have been disabled temporarily, Scuttling was also temporarily disabled this weekend but should be working again. We do Apologize for any inconveniences resulting from that.) |

We have received some updated intelligence indicating that Brigand Kings will be resuming their normal blockading activities in the new year. (BK blockades will again be happening in January, this means that the first blockade drop will be possible on the 1st for a blockade on the 10th. As previously announced, BKs have eased up and flotillas which aren't destroyed will not always become blockades.) |

At long last, we have the next set of island openings scheduled! Beware, we have confirmed reports that the BKs will be moving in early and defending the islands as their own. Good luck to everyone! August: September

The Midnight and Cobalt Island openings will be with the following conditions: - The Islands will be opened for 4 total weeks. Dragon's nest will be returned to the Dread Ringers on October 17th and Alpha Island will be returned to the Dread Ringers on October 24th. - A Brigand King may or may not join in the initial blockade when the island opens. - The flag who wins the first blockade will be given the deed to one construction site on that island. Please petition with the shoppe type and name, commodities and labor are your responsibility. We will build the site as soon as we are able. If the construction site is lost in a subsequent blockade it will not be returned! - No additional shoppes are to be built on the island for the duration of the 4 weeks, failure to follow this will result in the immediate removal of the flag from the island, no refunds will be issued. - Props should be intact at the end of the four week period. |

Please note, flotillas will continue to spawn and be available for attack but will not result in any BK blockades. BKs can still be scuttled but will be set to happen on Saturday at noon Pirate Time. |

Ahoy, pirates! This is something of a teaser - we're working on a plan for island openings on a number of oceans this summer. Each ocean included will have a shortlist of islands available to be opened, and there will be an event to compete in to win the right to choose which island from the shortlist will be opened for blockading. There will be more details posted before the end of May - if you wish to put forward a case for a particular island to be on the shortlist for your ocean, you can use this linked thread! edit: For now, I'm not including Opal and Jade - these will be handled separately! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by Apollo at Mar 17, 2011 9:59:46 AM] |

I promised information by the end of May, so here is an update. We started with the list of islands suggested by you in the Parley thread (and the off-shoot ocean Parley threads) and also considered the reasons for the suggestions made. We do not have a final decision yet, I'm afraid, so you'll need to wait a bit longer while we complete the process of narrowing down the "longlist" into a "shortlist" for each ocean. The islands listed below are those that are still under consideration to make the final shortlist. On each ocean where we decide an island opening can happen, there will be an event blockade to compete in to win the right to choose which option from the final shortlist is chosen. For every ocean, there were 'votes' for not opening new islands. As a result: On Midnight there will be no new islands opened in this round. If the monarch of Tyr's Own wants to confirm the Grand Tarbucks Suggestion, we'd be willing to discuss that! The same is true for any other flags who would like to donate islands back to the Ringers to change things a little! On all oceans where an event is held for island openings, one of the shortlist options will be "No island openings". This allows those who believe there are enough islands open on their ocean to compete for that choice. The following lists are the islands still under consideration for opening - please note that none of these oceans are yet guaranteed to have island openings, and that some of these island options will be removed before the final shortlist. No islands will be added to this list. Cobalt: Jubilee, Hadrian, Stormy Fell, Windward Vale Viridian: Mermaid's Purse, Stormy Fell, Kuhio Sage: Cook, Hook Shelf, Rowes Hunter: Qaniit, Immokalee, Edgar's Choice, Paollu, Toba Malachite: Acanthaster Spits, Stalwart Reef I'm sorry that I'm not able to give you the final list and event details at this date, but we'll be finished as soon as we can, and we can then confirm the final shortlists. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Apollo at May 31, 2011 5:05:04 PM] |

As per the Ocean Merge FAQ here, blockades will be turned off on the newly merged oceans until a month after the merge. Until then, blockades will be re-enabled as normal on all oceans after New Year. ---------------------------------------- "Demeter is sneeeaky." Trickykid Avatar by Greylady |

Sorry, I knew I forgot something. Scuttles have NOT been disabled, but the time cannot be changed: they will happen at the default of 12 noon game time. ---------------------------------------- "Demeter is sneeeaky." Trickykid Avatar by Greylady |

Merge information: Brigand kings won't be able to attack islands for the same time frame as players. Players will still be able to scuttle. Flotillas will still be around. ---------------------------------------- "Demeter is sneeeaky." Trickykid Avatar by Greylady |

Ahoy! It looks we're facing darkened skies and stormy seas. Under these conditions we will be canceling all blockades for the weekend of Nov. 30. All blockade war chests have been refunded and should any islands change ownership they will be returned. - Pro ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Prometheus at Nov 30, 2013 5:25:19 PM] |
