 Come and get it!!!! CCC is cracking open a big bucket of Wissachicken for all of Sage to enjoy. When: 12 pm (noon) pirate time, July 28th Where: Wissahickon Island What: 3 rounds of sinking bumper sloops glory Why: because we are giving away the island Yes, you read correctly, the winner of the blockade event will win the island! How: Each flag participating must pay an entrance fee of 10k poe to be eligible to win the island. The fee must be paid to a CCC royal anytime before the blockade begins. The fee is not mandatory to participate in the event purely for fun, but you cannot be declared the winner. Wissahickon will be transferred to the winning flag on August 6th. Most rounds won will determine the winner, and most points earned as the tiebreaker if needed. Any entrance fees received above the cost of the island transfer will be placed on a CCC sloop that will enter the blockade to be sunk for your treasure hauling pleasure. There is no limit to the amount of ships you may enter. Just to note: I am not saying that CCC is going to cheat people out of money. However, this is not an OM controlled event, and therefore, it is possible that CCC can take all the entrance fee money and never transfer the island. Also, island transfers take 1 week to process. Therefore, a flag may win the island, but the flag may have to defend the island before the transfer is complete. Similarly, if an attacker wins the island in a blockade prior to the transfer, the island transfer will not go through. Finally, island transfer costs for a medium island is 125K (I believe). Therefore, 13 flags will have to enter the event in order for CCC to sink a ship for TH'ing. |

CCC has never cheated anyone and we do not intend to begin now, your poe is safe with us. We stand by the reputation of our mates, some of the most respected and trusted on the ocean. The entry fee is simply to offset the transfer fee of 150k that we will have to pay to give away the island - we're generous but not a charity organization after all. You are still welcome to come and play without paying, because first and foremost we want a fun event to happen, you just won't be eligible to win the island.
This is true, if you want to be a real barnacle, blockade the island before the winner can claim their prize. We'll refund any participants poe if the transfer cannot happen, even poe that we may have sunk.
150k actually. The TH is just a bonus if it happens: We are not selling Wissa and do not wish to make a profit from the transfer. /me whistles innocently. But, yeah, to reinforce what Elaria was saying, I'm pretty sure most of you mates know us well enough to know that CCC isn't out to cheat people out or steal your money. It would severely harm our reputations for eternity over...10k? Seriously, the money donated is going to pay for the transfer and anything over in a sloop (I even caught wind of there being enough extra PoE for two sloops) full of PoE to T-Haul, yarr! ---------------------------------------- Faldrok. Well the event is Saturday, July 28th at 12:01pm ringer, so in that case, then there will be a lot of tarting and the flag that attacks will have just spent WAY more than 10k to take the island we are giving away... I mean, come on, how often can you buy an island for 10k? And you get to have sinky sinky glub glub sloop crashing fun! But if someone wants to attack it and waste around 1mil on jobber pay and lose some ships...whatever. EDIT: I need to check a calender every once in a while!
