Is it seriously true that Ian McConville, awesome artist of Mac Hall, will really be joining Three Rings?

If so, that is the coolest thing EVER.

Hmm, looks like it. Here's the entry:

Well, thanks to the courteous pointing out of an opening from Nick [Nick Popovich, aka Lindworm] I am now an art monkey for Three Ring Design.

That's right, I'm now industry. When I started the comic I was a little disheartened by the state of the video game industry. I had just seen my ideal company, Bungie, fall from its indy home to a corporation. In the long run it was good for them, but my vision of a small group of people working on creative titles in a casual atmosphere was gone. I think I found what I was looking for in Three Rings. When I visited in May, I got to see a friendly environment populated by a tight team working on a project they cared about. When I came back from the interview I knew this is what I wanted. A place I can get my creative energies out while supporting my life and still not becoming Artist #336 texturing another God-damn Madden game. The comic will continue. The comic will continue. I mean after this last year of work load and illness the only way it could get worse is stopping all together. And as I said when I started, as long as it's fun I'll keep drawing. Last I checked this shit still amuses me.

Probably he should get used to calling it "Three Rings Design," then, instead of "Three Ring Design." ;)

Saw it last night and jawdropped during our D&D game.
That's awesome. I have loved the work on the comic, as well as the MOG*MOD that he worked on for Morrowind. Considering what weve seen in his art, I think he would fit right in.

That is just 10 flavors of awesome right there. I've been a fan of his art for a long time now and I can't wait to see what he comes up with for the game (although I'm not sure if he'll be working on Y!PP or Bang! Howdy).

The last one won't load for me.

But the fact that instruments (as furniture, at least) and such may be implemented in the game at some point makes me happy enough to not care... yet. But I still want to see the third one.

I wonder if the piano is more for Bang! than YPP...

I mean, I know the piano was around in piratey times, but...it was not something you'd find all over the place. Now, out west you had all those player pianos (though they didn't look like these...)

But these gorgeous pianos ( invented in 1709 and in courts by 1725) - or Harpsicords - would be perfect for estates. We seriously need some fine furniture for the ruling classes! Hooray for more artist power.

Definitely not made for Bang! Howdy. Notice the angles of the harpsichord, and the four directions. It simply looks like it should fit in. Go to the Bang! Howdy website, and look at the screenies. They look nothing like PP, and there's nothing there a harpsichord would fit into.

Edit: It's not a piano. It's a harpsichord.

Or, I assume from the first files title, which begins with 'harp'

Its a harpsacord I bet, as it has dual keyboards, and I am pretty sure harpsicords did, but piano's didnt. That and the texture file has harp in its name. And Harpsicords would be very fitting for the time period.
