Well, I could wait another 3 months, I guess.

Not that I really stand a chance for winning, but still...

EDIT: Still wondering why Bia chose a weekday...

i'd definitly like to attend - but its the same problem with time zones for me. How about you make each of the four runs at different times, and hold the finals on like the next day?

Then there would be complications involving how people in less populated timezones would have an advantage over higher-traffic timezones (similiar to how I would make sure to stay up for a 12:05 tourney back in December simply because there wasn't too much compeition) and stuff like that.

But given that the LAST bake-off started at 11AM PST I've gotten the impression that the bake-offs will have a rotating timeslot, so if this one doesn't work out the next one (or the one after that) will.

The time isn't actually what gets me, it's the fact that it's a week day that does. I could play anytime in a range of 15 hours on Saturday, but a Tuesday?

Send a Tell to Minthe in that time period, and have DND off. There is a participation limit, so send the tell early in that 30 minutes before to get in, but be patient after sending the tell, as it takes awhile to job everyone.

    This is kinda sour, but...

Aww... no one else tarting about the timing? I mean, plenty's been going on in the tourney thread... and a weekday isn't that good for all timezones, is it?

Apologies offered to those upset by this post.

    A couple of reasons:
    1) There's the possibility of cheating if you let players handle it; I might only job my friends to make sure they all get aboard, instead of doing it first-come-first-serve like we're supposed to. (That's a general I... I probably won't be at the Sage event, and even if I was, I don't have any non-forumtart Sage friends to job!)
    2) It's easier from an administrative perspective. If there's four to five helpers jobbing as well as Bia/Minthe/Io, then the number would climb and they'd probably be blissfully ignorant as to how high it got. Before you know it, you've got 120 participants in a contest designed to take 90-odd at most!
    3) Having at least one pair of informed eyes with (some measure of) authority able to keep track of what's happening on the vessel is a must. People have questions. My god, people have questions. (It's actually a bit of a running joke to place bets on how long it'll take somebody to ask "how do I paint my shack?") If one person is dedicated to jobbing, the restivus can deal with the shipside stuff. If everybody's busy with jobbing, nobody's watching.

I'm sure Bia has more reasons, but those are the ones that come to my mind.

Aye, wait until the day of the event, and between 4:30 and 4:50, /tell Minthe to get jobbed aboard the ship in question. I strongly advise against waiting until the last minute, not only for Bia's sanity but because these things do fill up. (96 spaces sounds like an awful lot until you're trying to find that last stubborn carp station!)

Time.. Good for me, but if it wasnt, Id skip what I was suppose to do. School? Work? My wedding? Well maybe not MY wedding.. but... That can be rescheduled. My point? I think it is good that familiar competitions are spread around a bit. For those getting married on this day, there will be another bake-off next month. These things happen and either make it or wait for one you can participate in. If a carp bake-off means as much to you as it does to me, you can go to sleep earlier or figure something out, if not, Ill tell you how it went.

    Hmm.. I dont feel grumpy.
