Creating a new badge - Blockading Badge Reply to this Post
Reply with Quote

I think there can be a new badge implemented into the game. This badge would be a blockading badge.

I figure this would also help reduce the amount of Bot Farm Alts would be generated each weekend for blockades. This badge would also cost 10 Doubloons for 15 Days. This would generate a significant PoE sink in the game while also making those Kade Bot Farmers spend more of their PoE just to try and get an advantage off other people.

What about new people to the game. It would be another goal for them to strive for, influencing them to explore the rest of the game. It would also encourage others to spend their earnings in a blockade more wisely towards things they need over the poker tables.

What do you think?

If you were going to do that you would also have to raise the amount of dubs needed for a bravery badge since they mostly job in blockades or SMHs. But +1 for the Blockading badge will also prevent stupid amounts of ships on the NB when 90-95% of the ships aren't actually loading anything.

Having such a badge go on the same login day system that most of the other badges use would actually punish the more active players who participate in blockades. Players who only show up to an ocean to blockade would get several months use out of the badge, while active players would only get a couple weeks. The badge would be useless during the week since blockades aren't possible then, but it would continue aging.

It wouldn't punish them, it would just force them to adjust their playstyle to creating blockade alts who only log in for blockades. Kind of counterproductive to the stated purpose, don't you think?

Some of that comes from flags wanting to have their ship listed as the top ship for blockade jobs.

For blockade jobbing offers, maybe flags should be listed instead of ships. Then, when a jobber applies for a job, any ship in that flag that 1) has Blockade as their configured voyage and 2) has the jobbing notice enabled would receive the jobbing request.

For the jobbers viewing the NB, maybe the flag order should be based first on jobber pay and then RNG would determine the order each time a pirate viewed the NB.

Bot farms are made of gold. This would just prevent and remove incentive for legitmate players who like to cade once every few weekends from participating.
