Ah 2012, what a fine vintage! Oh, not talking about rum? Fine, here's your blasted Doodle:

Wayfarer of Emerald My challenge was to make it only out of my breakfast this morningonion poppyseed ciabatta, homemade hummus (as glue), avocado, and apple slices. The entire thing was promptly eaten by me (with the exception of the hummus-smeared apple skin, I didn't want to punish myself). Greyladyy of Cerulean Originally I had planned to go traditional by frosting my snowman with leftover cream cheese buttercream frosting from my son's birthday last week, but I liked him so well "au natural" that I decided to keep him stark naked....though I must say my decision seems to have made him blush a bit! :) ![]() In case you can't tell from the pictures, the base is an acorn squash, the middle is a grapefruit and the head is an apple. The arms are small celery stalks. The scarf is made from pieces of candied orange peel squished together. The top hat is made from the top of an ancient pepper and a slice of mushroom. The eyes and mouth are whole cloves, the nose the tip of a carrot, and the buttons thin slices of a purple carrot studded with whole cloves. Ingredients Progress01 Progress02 Progress03 Progress04 ---------------------------------------- Greylady, Meridian & Emerald, Greyladyy on Cerulean Get cracking and scrambling! Eggs are here!! |

Elyzz of Emerald I used the rich biscuits (US cookies) from my favourite recipe book and three different sized glasses as cutters. I used icing as cement between the biscuits and to drizzle down the outside. the snowman decorations are all wine gums. Lastly I sprinkled some edible cake decorations (from my real Christmas cake this year) and dusted with icing sugar. ![]() Ingredients https://imgur.com/zRGYmrm In progress https://imgur.com/eclvDxA ---------------------------------------- Elyzz from |

Cattrin on Emerald Steamy the Bunman! ![]() alt image I've never made steamed buns before, so I wanted to give it a try. He came out kinda crooked, but I think that makes him look bashful. Materials: Bread flour, sugar, yeast, water, food coloring, mint chocolate truffles, nonpareil mint chocolate chips little head, big smile fresh out of the sauna maybe should've only been two balls tall inside- lots of white chocolate should've stuffed more into the bottom two, but I didn't want to lose the round shape from the truffle! ---------------------------------------- Cattrin of Cerulean Avatar by Apollo (we miss you :c), Blakbead, Angelira, Coriander, and Accelerator!

After a weekend of only getting "poor" and "booched" while playing this small game of alchemistry+distilling FINALLY I got an "excellent" so I think I'll name my creation: Snowman in a Mint Spa Also, I'll go step by step. All that I used is Here, but to make it clearer... Materials needed for the cocktail: - 60 CL of yer finest White rum. - 30 ML of Milk - 30 ML of Condensed milk - 15 ML of Mint Liqueur (The one that I've just now realized is hiding in the picture behind the milk carton) - 5 fresh Mint leaves - 2 drops of Vanilla extract - More than enough Ice -Shaker, muddler, jigger and martini glass. Materials needed of the snowman: -Marshmallows (I used 2 different sizes) -1 Orange gummy candy. -Chocolate coated marshmallow -Chocolate sauce -Toothpicks -A Knife (Your favourite Scimitar works well too) Before I actually started, a preparation Tip: Muddle gently beforehand the mint leaves in the white rum to spice it up. To assembly the snowman, as I try to explain Here: I used the toothpicks to carefully stick together the marshmallows and give the shape of the snowman. I used the smaller ones for the arms and the chocolate coated one as a hat (or helmet in this case). Then, I used the knife to cut diagonally the candy and used it as a nose. The chocolate sauce was intended for decoration, but my clumsy hands made it a messy drunkish choco-snowman that I placed in the martini glass before pouring the drink. For our drink This is what I did: After the muddling the mint in the rum and letting it rest for a while, I took these off my rum and placed all the liquids in the quantities metioned before (along with the ice) in the shaker, and ... well... shake them. To end this Result here: ![]() Why it looks like that? I'll leave a brief explanation in the other thread. ---------------------------------------- Mutro (and others) in Sag...Emerald Ocean. |

Alpha on Emerald Santa-crunch-o-Licious ![]() Ingredients .. unfortunately, the licorice did not make it to the final product, I ate it ^_^. The spaghetti (to keep Santa's clothes from falling off) and fondant for the face were added later. Progress - Melting the marshmallows and mixing in the cereal Progress - Shaping the figure (sticky and gooey, but delicious) - Progress -Stacking Santa. Decided to go with whole strawberries for the legs Progress - Dressing Santa. Awesome, the strawberries actually stayed on with the help of raw spaghetti Progress -lending a hand or two Santa did not survive my husband ... he ate all of my creation, even the raw spaghetti ... ---------------------------------------- - xxx Alpha xxx - |

Phaeirie, Emerald. The Great British Bakeoff is safe from my efforts!! I made a festive Christmas candle. ![]() The candle is made from a chocolate swiss roll, filled with rasperry jam and vanilla cream. It is iced with white royal icing The flame and holly are made with icing, painted with food colouring. The ganache is white chocolate and cream. The snowman was made with leftover icing and painted with food colouring. Ingredients All the bits required to make the icing, swiss roll and ganache. Progress I combined all the progress shots to a single montage, with text included describing each. ---------------------------------------- *********************************** Phaerie: Obsidian and Cerulean Phaeirie: Emerald ___________________________________ Fray Cray Phae at yer service! |
