Software Engineer for Puzzle Pirates (20 hrs/week, remote, Java)

Huzzah! We are seeking a software engineer to join Puzzle Pirates' merry crew!

Responsibilities:

Learn the ropes of an sea-worthy vessel from an old salt
Take on maintenance tasks and incomplete projects
Conceptualize and design new features for the game with Grey Havens colleagues
Implement, test, and release improvements and new features
Engage with the community on forums around specific projects

Things we would like to see in candidates:

Prior devops work using Linux, AWS, SQL, etc.
Some Java experience or a willingness to learn very quickly
Experience playing Puzzle Pirates

About the role:

Schedule entirely under your control, almost no scheduled meetings
Paid hourly, flexible hours, expectation is ~20 hours a week initially
Annual bonus, two weeks paid vacation
Remote team, communication mostly over Slack
