Dearest Cerulean, As of late, I've been grappling with my desire to remain playing this game. Thankfully, I've been provided the spark to continue. I will be committing myself to reckless blockading unless my conditions are met: 1) No player owned large island has a tax rate of 30% or above 2) I don't feel like burning a weekend 3) I run out of ships, stock or poe (Don't worry I won't) 4) I find it in my heart to love (Don't worry I won't) 5) A non-enforceable demand of a pony My demands are listed, ensure they're met. As always, Cheers, Majorjr ---------------------------------------- Majorjr on Cerulean Littlemenjr on Meridian Major on Emerald Aristoza greeter chats, "Hello! Currently, of Tilinka's 18 demands made in 3 Ultimata, 6 have been met. That's a 33% success rate. We'll be watching how this works out for you. Personally I think she had a good strategy of releasing her second Ultimatum as soon as one clause of the first was met. I'm confused by this point. How is this non-enforceable, in relation to the other demands? Also, are there even ponies in circulation these days, or would you be banking on a pony in reserve? ---------------------------------------- Minsiem, Like A Fox Nimbelina, Any Minute Now I believe in a Higher Purple! With the population on the ocean being so low, you really need to take into account the population of the islands. See the yppeage: Tax So, for example, while Eta has a "tax" rate or 100%, it has a population of only 16, making the effective tax rate less than 30%. Here is a list of islands, with their effective tax rates: Island Pop Tax Eff tax ---------------------------------------- Algol can not assert the truth of all statements in this post and still be consistent. |

I'm only in it for the blockades, I can't be bothered to do any maths when justifying my tyranny. ---------------------------------------- Majorjr on Cerulean Littlemenjr on Meridian Major on Emerald Aristoza greeter chats, "Hello! I didn't intend to discourage blockades, and you can certainly choose whatever reason you want, but you did choose taxes. I just thought it was useful to point out how the current populations change the effective tax rate. Only Terra and Turtle can even match Kirin's tax rate if they set their taxes near 100%, and I didn't think that was obvious. I suspect that almost all islands don't break even off of taxes. All I did was take a program I had that had all the data, pulled in the formula from the yppedia and post the results. Maybe a more useful was to present it is that if an island has a population of near 0, you should divide the tax rate by 4 (25%), if an island has a population near 25, divide the tax rate by 3 (33%), and if the island has a population near 80, divide it in half (50%). ---------------------------------------- Algol can not assert the truth of all statements in this post and still be consistent. |
