An iPad version was done some time ago, with intent on an Android version later on. However, it was decided that maintaining two different interfaces was a bit much (people were very much against integrating the iPad interface into the desktop version of the game), and it was dropped.

Consider that the current dev team is quite a bit smaller than it was when the iPad version was active. I don't think alternate platform versions will happen anytime soon.
