Official Ocean Merge Date

Hear ye, hear ye!

We will officially be merging the oceans on Tuesday, January 31st! All English oceans will be shutdown at 8:00 AM PST that morning in preparation for this momentous event. We will do our very best to get the new oceans up and running as quickly as possible, but moving entire oceans is no small task, and we expect that we will be down most of that day in order to unite these mighty seas properly.

Our apologies for not announcing the official date sooner. We obviously did not want to go ahead with this until everything was shipshape and seaworthy, and our crew has been busily bludgeoning bugs and hauling hardware.

Thank ye again to everyone who helped explore the test oceans. Through yer valiant efforts we were able to discover and put an end to this horde of technical beasties:

Fixed Bugs:

Some tailoring stalls were incorrectly listing items as "Display Only".
Some furnishers weren't displaying the list of available furniture.
Pirates with "-East" or "-West" suffixes can be selected in your /tell chat history.
Fixed missing memorized areas (clearly the result of too much rum).
Fxied missing NPPs from special vessels (such as the ghost on the Phantom sloop).
Fixed missing bid tickets.
An active crew will get to keep their name (no "East/West") in the case where an older crew with the same name no longer has any members.
Pets will no longer show "Null be the owner of ..."
Restored missing torso/legs on some pirates.
Various issues related to -East/-West names: can now transfer supplies, rename dummies, complain them, and add as managers.
Renaming a pirate will no longer break them as a roommate.
Allowed for roommate invitations to be sent to pirates with "-East" or "-West" names.
Crew and flag fame will be carried over and calculated correctly.
Made sure that furni that refers to a pirate, such as framed portraits, trophy cases, and dummies work correctly. Allowed for these items to be inscribed with "-East" or "-West" pirate names.
Complaint form will now accept "-East" or "-West" pirate names.
Weaving will not be disabled.
Fixed /cwho and /fwho commands for crews and flags with "-East" or "-West" suffixes.

Known Issues (still stomping on these):

Oddities with taxes/rent.
Brigands with "-East" or "-West suffix.
Quirks with refreshing dormant laborers.
Sword/Rumble Dummies not showing correct gender.

Merge information:
Brigand kings won't be able to attack islands for the same time frame as players. Players will still be able to scuttle. Flotillas will still be around.

Please do NOT go deleting pirates all over the place. They take some time to purge so you won't be able to update the name immediately.

If you want to swap which of your pirates has the un-suffixed name, please petition asking for the name to be swapped (from both of your pirates, if one is on another of your accounts) and we'll get to it when we're able, but this will take some time.

In any cases other than a straight swap, we will not rename for free. If you have a suffix appended, you can use the Rogue Mark shoppe to rename your pirate for free automatically. Other pirates will have to pay the fee.

As a result of the merger we have disabled performance and experience based trophies until the standings even out. We do not have a specific date for when they will be reenabled but will post here when that is done.

Welcome to the new oceans! I hope you are all enjoying the vast, new seas. Alas, we realize yer first day was interrupted by some troubles. Most of those have been resolved now, and the developers are tracking down and squashing the remaining bugs.

I have some good news for all of you who were not able to get your piracy time over the last two days. To make up for the downtime of the merge, as well as the unsafe seas of Wednesday, we're offering the following:

*Double brigand/barbarian payouts through the weekend! This will end Monday at 10AM game time.
*Two days will be added to all badges. This will be credited after the reboot tomorrow morning.
*Two days will be added to all current subscriptions. This is being applied by the billing squid as I type!

We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced over the last 2 days, and thank you for being patient and supportive!

Apologies, I was incorrect about scuttling being separate from brigand king attacks. I've turned on the brigand kings again, so scuttling will be possible now.
