So, let's write poems about this baby ocean of ours, which sadly will die before its fourth birthday, only just a toddler. Malachite ~ a poem A vivid green, your name did mean which captured all our hearts. A single place, a playerbase, that sadly now departs. "On t'ward new things!", the voices sing, that live inside a pirate's head. "On t'ward Meridian, that brave new world, for Malachite now is dead!" BYE BYE MALACHITE! <3 Now it's your turn. ---------------------------------------- Visionary/Visionarye - Coming soon to an ocean near you! Mitchiie wrote:

OK - here goes: Well I been rich and I been poor, But I never been like this before. The sun's going down and I am bereft Mourning a home I never left. Head held high, and full of wonder- Let's go see what they got to plunder!!! |

Here's another one! ^_^ Golden-Green Age ~ another poem Our time is near, and soon will come, for now Malachite is over and done. The sun has set on a golden-green age, leaving us left to count the days, and though passed down, even just as a story, we will always remember Malachite, with it's former glory ...and now for something a little more abstract! Memory The People, The People, whom I may have met. The Bold Ones, The Kind Ones, The Cold Ones, have helped me shape a memory. A memory of the place we called home. ---------------------------------------- Visionary/Visionarye - Coming soon to an ocean near you! Mitchiie wrote:

Malachite. A place we'll all remember. A place we always knew. And we'll miss it. Sometimes we had a problem. Sometimes things just weren't right. But we'll miss it. It's changing before our eyes. It's changing, and there's nothing we can do. And we'll miss it. Let's enjoy it while we can. Let's make the most of things. But we'll miss it. ---------------------------------------- Splashie on the Meridian ocean. Formerly a Malachitian. Fleet Officer and Mascot of the crew The Eight Arcanum, Of the flag Argosy. To Bounce, A wise man walks, slow yet not too much so He keeps pace with the ever setting sun It falls while he stretches out evermore He refuses to wilt as the flowers do We sing and circle around Our island, oh sing with us Spiders crawl all around Her voice is croaking now Please help us, please We need you as you once did Falling without a net You sail on anyways The island remains dark A full moon will pass We ride the cycle too Full of cobwebs Thank you for letting down the Malachite ocean Bounce. It is good to see that your brig pillage was more important than today's blockade of Drogeo. The collective stall owners thank you for your selfishness. Thank you Joshuakiller. ---------------------------------------- Emmett |

Suck it up Em boy. Stop being so bitter that they found something better then you. Would have ONE brig made all the difference? If someone wants to turn this into a poem be my guest :) ---------------------------------------- Native of Malachite

I'm not sure how not jobbing for Carpe Diem and loading a brig instead after being asked numerous times to wait has anything to do with me, other than the fact that I find it idiotic. Considering how Malachite is in the middle of having friendship circles, "this is how friendship has always made mala the best ocean... we work together every trout day! all hail malachite!", I can't quite understand how anyone at all could agree with Bounce filling a brig during a blockade. If it happened to any flag on this ocean, they would have a problem with it. Posting that this is ok is just stupid and goes to show how pathetic people are.
Also, I find this ironic. Your former captain is incredibly nice. ---------------------------------------- Emmett ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by monstersoda at Jan 29, 2012 9:33:52 AM] |

You know perfectly well what I am talking about. So by posting your little tarty come back to my genuine concern over a flag being completely rude and, because of that, one of our few islands will be under BK rule this month, hurting small stall owners, is a joke at best. Do you support not helping each other Taytaytatty? Learn some common sense, then try politics. You actually have to think things through sometimes, rather than disagree with me on everything. ---------------------------------------- Emmett ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by monstersoda at Jan 29, 2012 11:30:09 AM] |

Now, back to the point of the thread. You found me when I was lost at sea Completely took control of me The waves were high, the ocean was long You never cared if I was right or wrong The family grew, the bonds got close We knew who we were, no matter which side we chose We were Malachitians, the bravest of them all We would always honor the oceans call Malachite, I say my final goodbye You will be missed, that is no lie To you, this is the last message I will send Your waves will run through us til the very end ---------------------------------------- Tangosueno in the Meridian~~ .... If you insist then i guess i do.
Are you actually complaining about me being tarty? Your whole post was a massive tart fest.
They dont have to blockade if they dont want to. This is my main problem with your post Emmett, you can't slander a flag just because they wanted to pilly instead of blockade. Its amazing that you think everyone wants to do the exact same thing at the exact same time, they wanted something different, you criticising them for that just reflects badly on yourself. What makes it worse is that they left YOUR flag, so you just look even tarty'er - you arnt doing yourself, or the "small stall owners" any favours. And yes, stalls owners, cry a river. Its only a month, 4 weeks rent, Id like to see just ONE pirate come forward and say they cant take the cost of a higher tax rate for that time. Island economy will suffer, sure, thats all part of the game dynamics.
Yes, i think all crews and flags should be abolished and the ocean be full of solo sloop pilles, doesnt that sound grand?
My thought process - 1) Emmett is slandering a flag that left his 2) His opinion is therefore biased 3) Wait, all they did was pilly instead of cade? 4) They have free choice 5) Emmett is being Emmett 6) Lets post some bitchy remark ---------------------------------------- Native of Malachite

Considering I was naving in the Drogeo cade, I guess I'm pretty qualified to answer this. We were against a five strength Widow Queen, who is quite frig heavy when it comes to sending out spawns. We managed to send in a WF, and a slightly undermanned junk, as we only had about sixty jobbers throughout the cade. We faced, at the beginning, a GF, a Baghlah, and a dhow. After my junk came in, another two WF's spawned, and our WF naver sank the GF. Had we had another frig, or even a brig, the WQ's spawn would most likely have remained the same, and we would have been able to take out much more than just the one strength in the first round. Those 20-30 jobbers would have made a significant difference, and would have made it possible to keep Drogeo out of BK hands over the span of the next four weeks. ---------------------------------------- Bunnyspawn, prince of Coherent Insanity on Meridian. So you had about 60ish jobbers? Wouldve been how many online at the time? 100ish? Still another brig load of people floating about out there that didnt cade either. But as i was not present i will take your word that it wouldve made a difference. ---------------------------------------- Native of Malachite

The problem is principle. As an ocean built on mutual support, and considering that this was the last chance to blockade for a month, principle is key. ---------------------------------------- Emmett |

Right, we had roughly sixty. At the beginning of the blockade, there were 155 online. I'm not placing blame on Joshuakiller here, because he was doing what he wanted to do, and it wasn't a direct interference with the cade. But, it's sort of like overjobbing, which is passively detrimental. In the long run, his boat of twenty or so is just as much to blame for the lack of numbers during the Drogeo cade as every other pirate who wasn't there. They can't be blamed for not wanting to cade, but that doesn't make it any less easier to perform without their help. ---------------------------------------- Bunnyspawn, prince of Coherent Insanity on Meridian. I know this is kinda to cover (and i thank you for trying) but to be honest, this is Malachite -at least until the 31st of january- so the brig would have made kind of a HUGE difference, and i do apologize i wasnt around at all this last week since i was away for vacations -I jsut came back, so im just seeing this things- ---------------------------------------- Yumisa World Wide~ 10 years in, still here, baby. People need to look past the fact it's Emmett posting that. Running a brig pillage when there's a difficult BK cade on is against the spirit of cooperation which Malachite used to be so good at. Although CD were always unlikely to get enough jobbers to win the cade only paying 600 (we typically had to pay 1000-1500 to beat Barney in similar Drogeo cades), that WB significantly reduced the chance that they'd be able to do so. ---------------------------------------- Bobjanova on Viridian and Malachite Shops and stalls with fair and profitable wages for all: Jubilee, Napi, Chelydra Stripped/Barely Dressed (Malachite) Phantasm/Reign of Chaos (Viridian) |

I don't think it helped that he was running a WB pilly during the BK cade at all, so I do agree with Emmett on that part. If Josh did manage to fill a WB, then that would've been a big difference in jobbing numbers for the cade on Mala. Although I would find it odd if he even got enough jobbers to fill it as I would think most would choose a BK cade over a pilly any day. I don't know the details as I wasn't there. I'm not disagreeing or bashing Emmett for that, because I would be just as upset if it were my BK cade and someone I knew just decided to run a pilly during it instead of supporting the ocean. I dont agree that he should be tarting about it here, which was a perfectly good poem thread to say goodbye to Mala. Not a tarting poem thread about other flags on Mala. ---------------------------------------- Tangosueno in the Meridian~~ ....
