Could there be some kind of selection system when buying paints that, instead of only have the option of buying a certain number of units, you could just select what you're painting, and the correct volume of paint is automatically quoted? For instance, you could select "Ship", "Sloop", then select your 'primary' and 'secondary' colours (or rail and hull, or whatever terminology used), and the correct volume of units are quoted for. Similarly you could select "Shop" or "Stall", giving the size options respectively. Alternately you could also simply select how many units of paint you want, if you're just trying to buy some paint for inventory, or whatever. It would be a bit more user-friendly that way, I think. |

Honestly I have no clue how much blood it requires for 7 units of black paint. I figured it'd be one, because blood is rather rare. ---------------------------------------- Sart Senior Officer of Black Death |

How exactly do you plan to make precisely 7 black paint? Make a batch and toss out the other 5? I've got the paint requirements for all the stall types. :p 7/12 of one unit of Kracken's Blood ;) Seriously though, I think people will have no problem selling off extra paint, or accumulating it for the next thing they wish to paint. ---------------------------------------- Diamondblade, Cartographer, Crimson Tide. from Midnight. Bah... During the test I thought I saw green paint came in units of 7. Perhaps I saw it wrong. Quite simply, since you actually paid attention to how much paint is produced from X units of whatever (and I really didn't bother to note it) you could just supply the correct information instead of acting like your additional knowledge somehow makes you superior. ---------------------------------------- Sart Senior Officer of Black Death |

Enamel comes out in 7s, paint comes out in 12s :) http://www.elemental.pp-nest.net/economy.html ---------------------------------------- Diamondblade, Cartographer, Crimson Tide. from Midnight. Dear sir or madam can you read my book, it took me years to write, will you take a look? |

Should that economy post at elemental show goods entering/leaving the economy as well as poe entering/leaving the economy? I'm thinking that a beginner might be confused by showing production (ships, balls, rum, clothing, swords, etc) as money leaving the economy; while true (sales tax), they primarily redistribute money and remove goods. I found the section on paint a little hard to understand. Maybe if the hemp oil could always go into the same column? Do WF's and GF's really take the same amount of paint? Are MG's really that much more paint? (The only ship with every section paintable?) Maybe people ought to be doing black/black MG calculations/contests instead :-). EDIT: That chart at elemental disagrees with the post earlier in this thread. ---------------------------------------- Maybe "historical" dragons were pterosaurs? http://www.livescience.com/animals/090107-pterosaur-flight.html "No plain fanfold paper could hold that fractal Puff -- He grew so fast no plotting pack could shrink him far enough." |

The painting chart is probably inaccurate. There's a reason this page isn't publicly linked ;) The recipie information, which is what was requested, was correct. Trying to understand the chart here...is the first number for rails or is the first number for the side boards? I would think the bigger number would be for the sideboards, but I remember seeing it reversed someplace else. ---------------------------------------- ~Gage Pirate of A Crew of Our Own (Viridian) A+ C P- LB-| GD+ !D Cp+ Bl+>++ Sa++ Gu++ SF+ N+ Bn>++ Dr+>++ R+ Al++ Sh B-(--) F++ Cl(++) Sp++ SpN+(++)/+ |

Oh I love the goods chart! Just what I've been looking for! One thing, though, I believe the paintbrush now requires Old Man's Beard... It's top to bottom in the menu. So, it's usually (always?) sideboard/railings/trim. Of course, some areas are trim-only, or walls-only, etc. ---------------------------------------- Barrister - YPPedia Administrator - Looterati |

By the way, before the big patch they made the large alchemy stall paintable. It's Walls: 4 paint (for the right wall only) and Trim: 1 paint (for the tiny patch about the totem.) ---------------------------------------- Basam/Johnbigbooty |
