A couple of policy statements with respect to blockades; [size=16]'Hiring' Flags to Blockade 'On Behalf Of' Another Flag is Discouraged and Not Supported By 'Discouraged' I mean that it is not a valid legal tactic, as it is clearly a method to circumvent the intention of the Fame mechanics. We may reprimand leaders who use this technique, so please don't. Clearly it would be possible for a flag to hire another flag and keep it very secret, so that nobody would ever know. By 'Not Supported' I mean that if anyone does this we are not going to provide them with any assistance in sorting out the mess that results (cf. the current government of Jorvik). We've not been terribly clear about this until now, so prior acts of flag-hiring are covered by amnesty (in that we won't be hunting down perpetrators and punishing them, such situations will still be not supported). We will turn a blind eye to such acts this weekend (June 10, 11, 12) as they may have been long-arranged at this point. [size=16]We Will Not Transfer Ownership of an Island to a Flag Without the Requisite Fame to Blockade Said Island That about says it all, I think. Sorry for being a meany-head about these things, but clearly we put Fame in for a reason. |

February's island openings, lots of Blockading fun for the whole family! January 28 - Viridian: Fintan Island, a lovely full sized island, ripe for the picking! February 4 - Sage: Blackthorpe Island, a spectacular medium sized island the likes of which you have never seen before, be the first on your block to own it! February 11 - Viridian/Cobalt: Ansel Island, a tiny outpost deep in the Onyx Archipelago, it's a jungle out there. February 18 - Sage: Admiral Island, a full island and picturesque village also known as the gateway to the Stork Archipelago. February 25 - Cobalt: Fintan Island, another beautiful large island, if you enjoy getting caught in the rain then this is the place for you! |

Fame requirements on Outposts have been lowered by one on all of the oceans (except for Sage) as part of the Event Blockade openings. All Event Blockade islands should be open now, we'll work on getting an official schedule up on the wiki soon! It seems the recent bugfix release unexpectedly reset the blockade window. This has now been corrected and we return you to your regularly scheduled blockade-free weekends. As a note, any blockades dropped during the brief window that blockades were turned on will be cancelled when they start. -Pro |

The Event Blockade islands will be closed as of September 10th. Instead we will be starting event blockades on request on any Ringer or Event owned island. In order to request this, you must petition at least 24 hours before your event is set to start and include a link to the forum post detailing your event. If the event blockade will overlap the normal blockade period you will need an additional 2 weeks notice. Scheduling conflicts: *Blockades will be set in the order that they are petitioned, not posted. So just because you post does not automatically save the date for your blockade. *Once an event is scheduled it will not be changed and no other events will be scheduled until after that event is complete. Please wait until the current event is over at an island before submitting your petition. *Remember that event blockades cannot be scheduled more than a month in advance. Your event post should be made in the appropriate ocean events thread and include the following: *Location *Date *Time *Blockade settings - Sinking: (Sinking/No Sinking/No Sinking No Removal) - Cannons Ineffective: (yes/no) - Ignore Alliances: (yes/no) - Use Maneuvers: (yes/no) - Rounds: (1-7) - Obstacles: (Normal/Sparse/Dense/Rocky/Turbulent/Windy) - Ship Types: (All/List of those allowed) *Prizes, details or anything else relevant to your event.
