The next day it was Friday for me. When school was finished I got on. Only to be to be told be my cap't for what I have done. I have not only hurt my self, but my crew's name.

Pains me to think what that conversation must have been like with the Cap't. I hope those keel-haul marks heal quickly.

It's ok, folks, he's ours. He's quite cute and working on his impulse control. His portrait hangs in the Inn on Tigerleaf, please stop by and have a mug of grog on the house.

Yes

That would mean no, though.
I guess that it's supposed to be no, thus meaning yes.
It's all a bit strange.

Anyway though, do not tell us to "keep it teen" because this game was originally M. Us adults have been nice enough to curtail our crude behavior, but we certainly don't need you to tell us what we can and can't say. Here's an example of favoritsm. Several agree with me that because of my midnight backround and/or some other Cobalt players' midnight backrounds they are being treated... unfairly by the oceanmasters. Well, I'm sure several of you have heard my name come up with the A Song for the Deaf issues lately. I have been trying to fix these and have listened to the OMs by reporting any contact. Yet still, I get in trouble for it somehow.

It's also making me mad that the OMs are contradicting themselves and/or the other OMs. One OM tells us not to be overly-sensative while I've been personally attacked by someone trying to get me banned on several accounts now. Next about 3 more OMs/devs tell us to report ANY contact. This is not a beef with all OMs. A handful of OMs make me happy that they try to help out and solve things. These OMs I'm sure know who they are.

To understand my post you'd have to read the 3 threads about the A Song for the Deaf/Muffbeard Conflict. If interested the Legality of Mercenaries thread is in Davy Jones and two of them are locked up on page 1 of parley.

So, for those of us who are curious at what all the mudslinging is about, but don't really have the time or motivation to go dredging through three old tart-warehouses... can someone, in as mild and non-partisan a manner as possible, describe what all this fuss is about?

I don't usually give a flip about politics on any ocean other than Midnight -- and not really all that much on Midnight -- but something that has this many people worked up and includes a few names I know must be amusing.

Speaking as a Midnighter with no firsthand knowledge of the involved parties, I think at one point d4rkon3 was promised a shop by someone. He, maybe his crew, left the flag. The shop wasn't delivered. This is a bone of contention. I seem to recall responses saying either it wasn't promised, or was promised conditionally, and the conditions were not fulfilled. So, he was shopless, perhaps unjustly. It does look a bit like he was screwed, probably by a change of flag leadership either unaware of, or unwilling to fulfill, the deal made by the previous set.

Then there's some sort of conflict with Lost, presumably a flag/crew, not the TV Show. I don't know anything about this. Though I understand both parties were basically issued a restraining order.

It also appears there is an issue with d4rkon3 and the Mercenary crew over there, that's the SFTD Prosperity references. There have on the forums been accusations of spying, alt abuse, conflict of interest, and ToS violations, as well as proposed GD changed relating to alt abuse. There has also been mention of harrassment in game and accusations of ToS violations directed at the crewmembers encouraging them to leave.

This is what I have gleaned from Parley. It may or may not be accurate. It may or may not make sense. As I said I'm an uninterested third party who plays on Cobalt less than any of the other oceans. In retrospect, it doesn't seem to get to the bottom of anything.

Ah, So lump the paragraphs with Lost and SFTD together. Based on the graphic accompanying a recent thread, would I be correct in assuming that this might stem from the shop disagreement listed in the first paragraph?

Nah. We don't get involved in that stuff. The history of how it began is on the 'a song for the deaf' wiki page, nothing to do with shops etc.

A little more insight to the thing with Prosperity.

It's basically between D4rk0n3/muffbeard and A Song for the Deaf (ASftD)/Lost (the crew).

The barebones basics is that ASftD is a war crew. Muffbeard began saying things about the crew and starting a huge rukus. ASftD and Muffbeard were prohibited from having contact with eachother. One of the threads is one I started (Where I threw the gauntlet, bla bla), where Muffbeard tried to make weird connections that I was trying to grief for ASftD (Which I wasn't, I had my own agenda there).

So basically, there was alot of crap thrown around, and now people are prohibited from talking to eachother. I think alot of what I said for my reasons in my thread sums up my feelins on the issue pretty well.
