Faulkston,
brief

Thanks. I didn't think to look at page two of the uberthread. And I didn't think to search for "recipe".

Is there a list of shop/stall mass/volume capacities? It should be in the ship/commodity thread, but isn't.

Building capacities and labor throughputs Reply to this Post

There's a graphical recipes page here but it doesn't have Estate Agent upgrade and downgrade items or construction site requirements.

The ship/commodity thread would be one place to put shoppe and stall capacities, including maximum labor throughput. The thread would have to be renamed to aid searching.

This post will not be updated regularly if at all. Go see the YPPedia for building hold capacities:
http://www.puzzlepirates.com/wiki/Building

and labor throughput:
http://www.puzzlepirates.com/wiki/Maximum_labor_throughput

It's known that Shady shoppes have approximately twice the capacity and labor output of Deluxe stalls. For Fine shoppes the factor is three. The shop interface does not list the output for Skilled and Expert labor but we do know that maximum labor output equals Basic labor output*.

There is an exception for Shipyard storage capacities. Shady shipyards have five times the mass and volume capacity of Deluxe shipbuilding stalls, while for Fine shipyards the factor is 7.5. This extra storage enables shipyards to build ships larger than War Brigs which stalls are not capable of doing.

Construction sites have a maximum labor output of 45.

Medium stalls can have one manager and Deluxe stalls can have two. Shoppes can have up to five managers and this seems to be also the case for shoppe and bazaar construction sites.

Only tailor shoppes and Deluxe tailoring stalls have clothing racks.

* I believe that when the hours of all labor grades used in a game hour are added together, they cannot exceed the maximum labor output value.

Faulkston,
not brief

So - just to get this straight - you could for example, in a deluxe Shipyard, use 7 units Expert and 3 units skilled and 13 units basic, all in the one hour?

I assumed that the maximum labour was assuming that all labour was Basic - and that a unit of Expert labour would count as, say 3 and a half units of Basic for usage quotas. That is, I thought you could use 7 units Expert or 13 units Basic (or 4 units expert and 9 units Basic), etc.

Assuming what you say is true, would this mean that after 10 units of Skilled/Expert labour have been used within an hour, all other labour applied would be Basic? As in (for direct puzzling), "You provided Expert labour, but the stall could only use Basic"?

Apologies if this is confusing or unnecessary... I thought that the way the system worked was a major cause of the Basic labour shortage in shipwrightery.

I'm really not sure but that's what the maximum outputs per labor category suggest to me. It seems to agree with what's written here:
http://www.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?p=263689#263689

The order of polling for labor from Expert down to Basic would bias towards filling Expert first, assuming your workers can actually provide Expert labor.

Faulkston,
admittedly hasn't tested this

Yes.

I was, some time ago, having a disscussion about this with someone, so decided to get an OM. I don't remmember the exact response, but the answer was that you could, indeed, do what you just explained.
