some sites have a hit limit per hour. Thats what this could have been.

When it was down it was giving a "scheduled server matinence" error message. Probably the matinence was scheduled based on EST instead of PST since when it went down it was 3am here. I'm glad to see it back up. :)

It was just a maintenance? Didn't notice that, but good to know. :) Well, I'm a total greenie concerning technichal things, so.. well, I just did what I saw fit in that situation. ;) Whatever. *G*

Judging Finished!

Wonderful entries, mates! I hope you had as much fun as I did. Although, walking through dozens of metropoli gets very tiring! I think next time I'll have a "Design a Tiny Outpost with Lots of Chairs and Comfy Pillows" contest.

The competition was very tight, so there are many represented in the runners up. It was also close for the number one slot, with several other very strong showings. Everyone did a wonderful job, and I'm very impressed. Your work was lovely, and I invite all of you to help us make official islands in the future.

If you are not a runner up, look to what they've done. Open their XMLs and see their techniques first hand. Everyone improves with every island they make, so keep at it. There will be future contests, and it's fun just to make islands anyway!
Oh, and make sure you actually met the requirements of the contest. There were some cute islands that didn't have enough buildings.

Oh my! *sobs* I wanna thank my mom and my manager, and...

Ok, seriously - a big "thank you" to Emerson, first of all. I wouldn't even have had a working Island Editor without him. I still hope he'll manage to post his amazingly huge file (What in the seven seas did you create that it's bigger than 500 KB?!). I'm really curious to see what he created.
Thanks to everyone for your help through criticism and inspiration. I think I've learned at least half as much by looking at your islands, as I learned through using the editor myself.
Just as Nemo said "The competition was very tight". Guess I just got lucky to create somthing after his fancy. ;)

Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up! There were some seriously fantastic islands created, and I can't wait to see your future additions to the game. This has been a very fun contest to watch, even if I haven't gotten around to actively participating in the discussion. I love seeing the creative process.
