Ahoy! Before beginning, I'm hoping this discussion can be held as civilly as possible. Please consider hanging your political hats at the door and leaving ocean politics or your dislike for certain people behind. I've been thinking it would be a nice idea if the community comes together and came up with names for a themed island on the ocean. At the moment considering there are only two islands colonized, this is a hypothetical. In no way can I promise that this will happen, but I figured it'd be nice if we all came together and came up with cute names for a themed island. I have a few "punny" names for a potential Game of Thrones themed island on Obsidian. Let's start the discussion with what island you think would be suitable for such a naming theme. For example: Pride Island is more obviously an island that should have a lion-related naming theme so it would be inappropriate to force a GoT theme upon it. Secondly, please include some suggestions towards the theme or some criticisms you have of the theme idea. To make things interesting I have started a collection for whoever comes up with the best palace name. A panel of judges (undetermined at the moment) will vote on which of the submitted palace names is the best, and winner will receive the total prize pool with other smaller prizes given to "honorable mention" submissions. CURRENT PRIZE POOL: 200k To share with you some names myself and some friends have come up with: -Government Buildings- Inn: A Dance with Flagons Black Market: Valerian Steal Trading Post/Market: Family, Booty, Honor -Shoppes/Bazaars- Shipyard: House Hully Shipyard: Junken H'gar Apothecary: What is Dead May Never Dye Apothecary: Dyewin Lannister Tailor/Weavery: We Do Not Sew Tailor/Weavery: Brienne of Cloth I'd prefer to steer clear of a shoppe names like "Sansa's Sloops" or "Brienne's Brigs" as I feel they are a cop-out and we can totally do better! Show the ocean your best punny ideas and crown yourself as ruler of the seven kingdoms!! ---------------------------------------- The Original Daddy. Love this, a GOT themed island would be amazing, looking forward to seeing all the creative responses!
