Back oh so many years ago, I bought one of the two classes of Casino ship (I can't remember which now, and I can't log in to double-check). As the Classic seas are dying, and interest is sparking for Dark Seas, I think it would be entirely appropriate to allow people who own LE ships to move them into Dark Seas. Now, obviously, this could be a severe problem of money (PoE/Dub) movement, which would not be good. That said, these ships were bought with real-world money, and have some value above and beyond PoE/Dubs. So, with that in mind, I propose the following: LE ships may be transferred from Classic seas to Dark Seas, using the same mechanics as the Explorer's Pack. The ships would transfer to the same account, and the player must accept them on a specific character. The ship is then bound to that character, and that character alone - it cannot be traded or sold to other players. Does this sound reasonable? Edit: If transfers are not allowed (and I can totally understand this, mind you), would it be possible for people who own (or previously purchased) LE ships to be given a Ship in a Bottle of their LE ship, so that they could buy (at normal in-game cost) their ship again? ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Nek0jin at Sep 26, 2017 3:07:01 PM] |

No, real money was not required I bought many LE ships with Poker winnings. A possible solution but one that is in my opinion much to much work would be to Repurchase the ship on the dark seas. You have to have the ship, the ship yard must collect the goods needed, and rebuild the ship here but this would require much work on Gray Haven's part. Or just think how many designs they already have we can have a LE a month for a long time just releasing them here(I hope to see new designs but a few popular ones could be re-released like casino, inferno ect.... Or let them have a cash grab of $20. for a sloop transferred over could be a real money maker. I have a few I would move over and they would be extremely rare. Over all extremely wishful thinking I would bet against this happening any transfers happening. ---------------------------------------- Filthyjake all oceans (Obsidian Primary) Filthyjake6145 (discord) ?Retired? I'd like to point out this post by Forculus. It doesn't mean you'll get to transfer your ships (most likely not) but they may be re-released or given away in other ways. ---------------------------------------- TriplePat, Emerald. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by patgangster at Sep 26, 2017 3:34:08 PM] |

It's kind of a shame to think that I spent money buying a special boat that I'll never get to use. At the time it was available, I wasn't active in PP when it was offered, and thought it'd be great to have it when I was bitten by the PP bug again. I think I took it on one voyage (travel, not pilly), and it's effectively been dry-docked the entire time since then. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Nek0jin at Sep 26, 2017 4:21:56 PM] |

Well people did/do scream: "New ocean new beginnings." I feel as though Obsidian should do something new (like releasing new types of LE ships), rather than re-release old LE ships. I too have a a few LE sloops on other oceans (10 altogether, weirdly I don't have 2 the same) but asking for them on Obsidian would ruin this "new vibe" people want. ---------------------------------------- Magneto - Emerald Cutingchris - |

+1 to this, but maybe because I don't have any of those old LE's myself. Perhaps start doing more events again, and make the old LE's the prizes, thus leaving them rare, but only releasing new ones in shipyards instead of old? Perhaps it would encourage more players to arrange good, oceanwide events if they knew they might be able to monger a LE as a prize for the participants. We haven't seen enough events in the past few years, nothing like what we used to see. ---------------------------------------- Scarpath on Emerald, Cerulean, and Meridian! You guys are once again jumping the gun with the purely cosmetic requests. The ocean is still in development, there are many core functions that are awaiting testing that I would hope they would be focusing on like you know...Blockades, and solving the need for multi-clienting, and the barnacle-ton of bugs with Steam at the moment. If I know these OMs, they can't wait either to start pumping out Familiars, and LE ships (and noses on pirates), and whatever else we think we all of a sudden have rights to receive right now because we paid $2.99 last week. I wouldn't expect (at least I would hope they have their priorities straight) any of the purely cosmetic additions to the game till the game gets out of the Beta stage. If you have a L.E ship on another ocean and it is so critical that you have it right now or you won't play, perhaps consider playing on that ocean for now. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Stan5 at Sep 29, 2017 3:41:47 AM] |

Weeelll, if you might recall, Chronus HAS asked us to come up with ideas and such for Obsidian. And yes, while some are more useful for short term, long term ideas are still needed. No need to get mean. I'm sure the devs can figure out when to work on what ideas just fine on their own. ---------------------------------------- Scarpath on Emerald, Cerulean, and Meridian! At no point have I demanded that this happen "now." Or even "soon." I haven't even "demanded" it at all. Nor have I stomped my feet about it, threatened to leave if I don't get what I want, or other childish "threats." It's a suggestion for bringing older LEs into Dark Seas. This serves the Dark Seas side of the game in several manners. It would widen the variety of ships without requiring any new artwork (or possibly little more than touch-ups on the old material) and minimal coding. And, for what it's worth, Forculus has said that they want to bring the old LEs to Dark Seas. My memory is shaky at the best of times (brain damage will do that to you). I remember buying the ship, but others have said that they were not sold directly for dollars, they were allowed to be crafted for a limited time in Shipbuilding Shoppes and Stalls. So, I more likely bought my ship with PoE and Dubs, and possibly had to spend cash on the Dubs. With that in mind, yes, asking for them to be transferred is probably out of the question. That doesn't mean that we can't talk about ways to make it happen other than the Devs flipping a switch that makes them available in Shipbuilding for a limited time. |
