This was in the News on the Notice Board.
I am wondering if they are doing this to test the sever as it will only happen on Emerald. You know, make sure it does not crash. I guess OOO thinks the tablet might bring in a ton of pirates and even bring some back. I hope they are not ALL sent to Emerald... EDIT: not sure if this goes here or in parley...move if need be! /rant I aint gonna waste my time on emerald for some crappy apple product. But on a more concerning note Sub players wont get credit for there time on their ocean for the ipad which is utter BS. Aint right. And triple poe on pillages if that don't cross all ocean I have never seen a bigger pile of crap in my life. I will poo a chicken if all oceans dont the get the triple poe, and you can count on that. That just chaps me to no end. /end rant On a positive note they are making progress on the tablet stuff so props there. I just hope they dont throw the sub ocean under the bus in the launch. And to any grammar nazi's I am sorry for the spotty grammar and spelling. More information regarding this promotion will be revealed as we approach the 24th however, for a chance to win a free iPad one must log into Emerald Ocean between 12pm and 3pm Friday the 24th. The increased payouts and injury chances will be exclusive to Emerald during that time. Other oceans will see increased payouts and injury chances later in the day for the same duration. - Pro |

I hope the increased payouts and injury chances will come to the other oceans too. I love our sub ocean and I want it to be supported like the rest of the oceans and I know many others do as well. The notice board links to the Spyglass but there is no corresponding blog post here. Is it forthcoming or what? OOO, you haven't released the details yet, so hopefully you're smart enough to have alternate in-game prizes available for the non-USers, or dubs, or something. Yes, you have a point. But it's an IPad for a reason.... This way, the lucky winner will be able to enjoy PP client on the new tablet version...thus the IPad-to play PP on it. Your right it should be totally easy to give non US citizens dubs instead of the ipad and for that matter give a random ceruleanite sub time as a good faith jesture. really you would be giving away virtual goods so that is a good deal for OOO. It's a bit annoying that a company owned by an Englishman should be so US-centric with this kind of thing. When I was getting ready to travel to Japan last summer, the helpful people at my local Apple store told me that you can only get Apple products serviced in the country where they are purchased. Assuming this is true, this could be one reason that the IPad prize is only available in the US. In addition, different countries have widely different rules about wagers, and contests, and prizes. Complying with all of them is probably impossible. Not to mention potentially expensive. Personally, I am looking forward to all the creative ideas people will come up with in response to the apparent invitation to try to "break" the server.
