Welcome to Week 3 of the Doodles! December 17 - Present Plans Contest opens now. Contest closes at midnight in around 24 hours. Today I would like you to write me a limerick. The subject of the limerick should be a gift that your pirate is hoping to receive over the holidays. A limerick is a five line verse and has a characteristic rhyme scheme and meter. The rhyme scheme is AABBA, so the second and fifth lines should rhyme with the first line, and the fourth line should rhyme with the third line. The A lines are longer than the B lines. Take a look at some published or online limericks to understand what the finished limerick should sound like. As a reminder, please read the general rules before posting. Trowzers of Sage.... This is what my pirate wants (after having my parrot recoloured)... My birdie, now empurpled nicely, Needs a pirate that matches precisely, So clothes of that hue, Would be lovely too, And that is what I'd like, concisely. And just because limericks are more fun than cleaning, this is what I want in real life... Sooooo... my hot water system corroded, And then it quite neatly exploded, So as the drips drop, Just give me a mop, Or give me more rum to get loaded!
