Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice!
Medium islands are being expanded to 5 structures, with housing counting. A newly colonized medium island can grow with any blend of shops/housing. A medium island that is now fully built up will only be able to add one house, so the governor should choose wisely. (Of course, the gov could just add another shoppe and tell everyone to go live somewhere else)
Your first shack is free, after that (2nd shack on another island, or any other house type) you've got to pay. Incentives? Well, there may eventually be a restriction that an island will need a boarding shack in order to receive greenies, but that's not in there yet. Probably a wise governor would want to offer different housing types from adjacent islands to differentiate the island. |

Oh, yeah I was mostly being silly... I don't see realism as a necessity in any way in this case, and it would certainly be less fun. ---------------------------------------- Shark Mascot of Ransack Marauders |

Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice!
Would medium island be able to spawn greenies then or would that still be restricted to large islands? I still don't see much of the differentiation as the islands in cobalt are very few large colonized islands. Is there any possibility that the other types will be shown as that is making a huge desiding factor for a lot of island design choices. Not to mention how much commodities will be needed and hours needed to finish it need to be released soon. How will the three main islands on cobalt and viridian be placed with these new stuff? will they be placed a week after the update to allow the player controlled islands a change to have a head start? I just saw the artemis posting. So technically, we can have the shack and the furni bazzar being built as well as 2 shops? ---------------------------------------- Rappak, memmer of the oceans. Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice! My question 'bout Cobalt (And Viridian, I guess) - What sizes of housing will be built on Dragon's Nest, Sakejima and Lima? Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice! Well clothes in a wardrobe still age at the same speed as clothes you are wearing. I just had both the clothes i was wearing and the clothes in the wardrobe turn old, and i have had both sets equally long. ---------------------------------------- Pleun, First Mate of Monkey Militia, TO in Carpe Noctem, Midnight ocean, owner of the Dainty Dolphin and the Mystical Dragon. Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice! Why not let medium islands that are developed have 2 new structures, 1 of which has to be the free housing? You really aren't giving us much choice in what to build since we need free housing to generate new players to our islands. Seems a bit harsh. ---------------------------------------- Bibity |

Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice!
I agree, we would love to be able to build the free shacks for all and some nicer housing for mates that want to pay for housing, so we get an option at least. ----------------------------------------

Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice!
Not planned. A player can have more than one house, and right now your houses aren't even known on the server until you enter them. We could perhaps do something in the future (we had contemplated always starting you in your house when you logged on).
Yes, sorry about this. We're making some last minute changes: A wardrobe (sword rack, etc) will only be able to hold a limited number of items. We will be doing a few follow-up releases to fix things up in housing, and we will definitely fix this up so that items in a wardrobe age the same way that tailor racks do (which will also change slightly). They will always age either 0 or 1 day when racked. 0 days if you take it back off during the same day, or 1 day for all other cases. In other words, they'll age a maximum of 1 day when racked. (Again though, this isn't in there yet, it will be in a follow-up release.) |

Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice! No info on furnisher bazaar yet. No formula for it either....looking at other shoppes vs bazaars in the realm of construction commodities ratios each commodity even within one shoppe/bazaar type will vary. I can tell you the ranges though. These are for shoppe amount/bazaar amount. Stone: ~.545 - ~.643 Tan cloth: .5-.8 Iron: .57 - .67 Wood: .5 - 3 (yes, that is a 3. this is due to my info saying an IM bazaar takes 40 vs. IM shoppe takes 120. ignoring that data point, the range is .5 - .52) Furnisher shoppe is currently known as 5,000/100/300/240. If the ranges hold close enough, then the potential range of amounts would be: Stone: 9,174 - 7,776 Tan cloth: 200 - 125 Iron: 526 - 447 Wood: 480 - 80 (461 if the IM data point is ignored) Figure what you will from that. I make absolutely no claims that my math skills and calculator button punching ability at 1am is up to par with those actually good at math. - Guppy ---------------------------------------- "There is no salvation in becoming adapted to a world which is crazy." - Henry Miller |

Quick, before the horse's mouth starts a freak out...is it brown cloth or actually the standard tan cloth that all other building construction uses? ---------------------------------------- "There is no salvation in becoming adapted to a world which is crazy." - Henry Miller |

Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice! Just a suggestion (I haven't read about 20 of the 33 pages, heh) but I really think roommate numbers should be upped for larger houses. Possibly one per level instead of per "tier", so Estates would have 10, Mansions 9, ect. instead of what seems to be Estates having 5, Mansions having 5, Villas having 4 ect. I'd really like to have a house for my crew, but I'd like to be able to add all my SOs, or at least the majority. ---------------------------------------- Ninjaguy - Captain of the Mad Mutineers, Prince of the Midnight Armada |

Re: *Hyperventilates* Housing on ice!
When they're ready. Unless you're a governer there won't be anything you can do immediately after the release anyway. You'll have to waiting until the housing and furnishers are built first. |
