Byrne II was I believe also under DOOFIS. I remember RD in that one, though after a while it was just given up as most of the attention was given to Jorvik III.

In Dolzar's defense, if you go to Cnossos and look at the shops there, they are all from before Black Sails took over. (They took over in May and the shops all have "since April 2004" dates or earlier, and are from the "name Cnossos shops" auction) He built bazaars and one apothecary. He's not lying about that.

The Cnossos navy even used to be pretty useful before the 1-island update.

Yes, yes indeed. The last auction was just a little too intense, could have been because it was the "last one" or something, but regardless, it was overflowed with buildings before it was blockadeable.

I love goldbeard and all, but when I was CT Liason to Black Sails back a few months ago, he was foraging his own materials (we're talking like, Wood here.) to build the bazaar because BS didn't have them.

And it's not really his fault. It's the fact that Cnossos is the poison pill of flags. You take it over, then you can't really do jack, and it just instills malaise in your flag and in the Governor personally, quite often. Goldbeard was one of the few who weren't torn down by it. Uzi might also fall into this category, but she's an obvious exception since she never had that whole big "wow my flag gets nothing out of this" problem.

If you hate Robertdonald, you want him to win. It is the poison pill of puzzle pirates, no joke.

Just to put a few things in perspective, the bazaars where built at the request of certain nameless ones, more so I put little effort in to supplying them as I thought the island could control if they where completed or not, I personally gained nothing either way. HOWEVER so far I have been blamed for my former prince/stand-in king, gathering materials for a ship (and this is some how bad) Building too many shops on the island (even though they where there when I took it), O and the random its bad to prevent further construction, and of course a great one, you built over my favorite spot. (of which that is the only one im willing to apologize for; sorry funny bones). I read somewhere that MA bought out shops and built nothing on Winter Solstice, I shalln't speak bad of my ally, as they have done a admirable job with Winter, BUT I will point out the ship yard that appeard shortly after they took the island... Frig N Cold.

Now the real point of this message, it seems peoples view is which of these two people is more EVIL, and a general feeling the ocean would be better with both myself and Robert gone. So I would like to discuss this offer with Robertdonald, loser leaves the game and has the OM's close their account after all personal goods are given away, and a gentlemens promise that if either ever opts to return they will take no part in matters that COULD shape the ocean, and will never own any special prizes (no familiars or islands). I make this offer as the ocean seems to be in a position where they are picking between to people they dont like (similiar to real life huh?) this way atleast they get something outta it. (yes I know this is dramaqueenish, but heck, I'm trying to give the people what they want).

A final note: This is the crew of Mercenaries. Our loyalties are for sale to the highest bidder. We don't come cheap, but we think victory in a blockade is worth it.

Id like a short list of blockades that your crew has won. (just curious)

If one or both of you left the game, more would be found to take your places. There will always be drama of one sort or another. I see no point in either of you leaving quite frankly.

You have to offer something in return in order to make a bargain, Dolzar. I really don't care whether you leave or quit the game. Anyway, you already assured me you are leaving the game no matter what, so you have offered nothing even if I did care.

I've noticed you don't negotiate in good faith, anyway.

Re: Cnossos Blockade - Now has nothing to do with Cookiemonstr

Wow. This thread got real ugly real fast.

Umm......let's all play nice now kids, hmm?

As someone who doesn't give a damn what happens to Cnossos as I never go there, I would say that this has been coming for a loooong time. As monarch of a previous flag, I was asked by numerous shoppe- and stall-owners of Cnossos to blockade the island to take it away from Dolzar, Goldbeard and mates. I didn't, but knew it was only a matter of time before someone did.

I wouldn't worry too much Kissa, as Scallywag Syndicate simply don't have the support of, well, everyone else in the ocean. Almost every other island-controlling flag has enough allies and friends to see them off, and whether they have particular frinds or not, the rest of the ocean generally bands together to stop Bob getting his hands on anything.

On a more general note, I have friends and acquaintances on both sides of this one, and got job offers from multiple people when I logged in this morning. I revert to my original comments of really not caring too much either way, and if that makes me a bad guy, well, meh, but I didn't really want to alienate my mates on the other side by jobbing with anyone.

Anyhoo, I think it's 3-0 after the first set to Black Sails (not a surprise) with Scallywag Syndicate claiming to be able to come back stronger in the later rounds, so we'll have to wait and see.

Best wishes to all,

Scarab

I'm wondering, how do you know it's 3-0, when the third round has barely even started? Or are you one of those people who can predict the future? Care to divulge who'll win the US election, so I can go make poe in that wager thread?

5-1 Black Sails (but that last round was EXTREMELY close: 289-269 black sails)

Sink count: I think at least 8 Black Sails ships sent to Davy Jones... 0 of Scallywag Syndicate.

How about ship sink totals, last I knew I think it was BS losing 2brigs, 2cutter, 1 sloop to 0 (seeing the win total is pretty poor)?

The part about my favorite spot was more of a joke, though I was a little sentimental for that place.

But Dolzar, you are a great mate, it's just, well, you did choose an island that was a bit booched. It even lost you a good island (long story involving interalliance politics of the past) if my memory serves. And, in the will to build build build, which I can't blame you for, you made it look even yuckier.

On Winter Solctice, MA has done the best job immaginable at running it. Though it is hard to get to the memorial now.

Pfft, its easier to get there now. Instead of walking through the center of shops, through the gate, and along the wall...you can just hop in Frig N Cold, and step outside. Besides, its a great shipyard name.
