How do i remove this game from HD? (seriously) Reply to this Post
Reply with Quote

Well if the developers don't even know how to remove this game...
than there is something fishy going on here.

Here i am....with puzzle pirates and i don't ven want it there anymore(this is because of the "Complete HardDrive Control" rule.

I think that this game might just be a scam, to be able to gather even more information on people "legally".

Cleaver says that it's not a right to play this game....but apparently it's a right to have it on ur harddrive.....

Appartently it's a right to have this game even after destroying your account....

Appartently the developers don't want you getting rid of this game...

Do realise how much searching i'm gonna have to do now just to even get rid of all the components of this game?

BEWARE EVERYONE: get rid of this game as quickly as possible....it is incriminating....and a scam.

THEY WON'T TeLL ME HOW TO REMOVE THIS GAME.....THEREFORE IT MUST BE A INFORMATION SCAM!

FINALLY...
can someone PLEASE tell me HOW to remove this from my harddrive?

And then, the same thing on another topic.

So aside from the "everyone, get rid of the game that's impossible to get rid of", I just noticed there's also vague insults directed at the organization he's trying to obtain help from ("you guys are jerks! you're running a scam! help me!").

Information-gathering programs are annoying, and I hope Y!PP isn't one, but I don't actually do anything illegal for the computer to report, so . . . not very incriminating . . . except for this little gem of software piracy!

as a new user I would actually like to see a reply to this though from an official side. Simply ridiculing that person while not giving any serious reply looks fishy as well.

The fact that this guy feels the need to say this multiple times under dif. names says something to me. I was able to remove it just fine. There are SO MANY techies that have been involved in the Alpha. I am talking programers and engineers. I'm a networking specialist. I just can't htink of a harder group to pull a tech scam on.

Any how, here is another thread from this guy where the method for removing the app is discussed:

http://www.puzzlepirates.com/community/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=960

There are a few other ways to get rid of it for that matter.

We'd have to be even greater lunatics than we are to have spent two years and a lot of money making a rather complicated MMP game in order to gather a few thousand people's precious 'information'. We could have made a dancing pirate animation, or better yet, a Windoze virus, and it would have been a lot quicker and reached a lot more people. Mr Byron, sir, you are an idiot. But I think we all knew that already.

But, to answer your question, if you used the Windows install there is a handy Uninstall option in the directory (Progam Files\Yohoho). If you didn't (in which case you installed Java, which should tell you something about our desires for your precious fl^H^Hinformation -- we could have written a Windows exe to do the job much more effectively) THEN you will need to search for a .yohoho directory and blow that away, and uninstall Java itself.

/em must dash to pour over the details of his players websurfing habits. Riiight.

Edit: Nemo and I move as one once again.

Amusing as this is, the answer has been given, so please stop asking for it.

As Ely said:

Open Java Web Start> Applications> Remove Application

The other option, if you used our new installer, is to just select Uninstall Y!PP from your start menu.

If, for some reason, neither of these works, you'll need to describe how it's not working. And, please, if you want help, don't insult the people you're asking.
