Firewall issues: http proxy Reply to this Post

I think the idea of the game is great. At the same time, in order to make it playable for a fair number of us it would be great if support for an http proxy server could be included in the client.

Any thought to building this in?

I'm not too familiar with proxies, as I've never had a need for one, but there are a number of posts on playing behind a firewall that may help you:

Anyway, do a search for "firewall" and/or "proxy". Short story: Check java web start, and see what settings are in there. The executable is 'javaws.exe'

You need to define a proxy in the Java Web Start. Also, your proxy needs to allow traffic through port 4007.

<--prefers a router himself, it's much easier that way.

Aye it is easier.

I play mostly at home, but my college has an open T3 wireless connection but I am unable to play PP while connected. I was told is was because of a proxy server, but I'm not sure if there is a way to get around it.
