With three people quoting me in their sigs right now, have I become Sublime/Ultimate in forum tarting?

I'm happy that one person is quoting me in their sig right now (Johnnyrico). Now I need three more people to quote me in their sig so I can get the #1 trophy. XD

I was quoted only once, some time ago. Commenting on Whitefire.

It was annoying. Kept confusing them with real posts.

Lets do the maths here....

As of the time of the survey....

Curt Postcount = 7453
Times Curti been sigged = 3 (Faulkies sig don't count, as technicaly, as per the sig convention of 1863, he sigged majestrate)

Thus....
  • BehindCurtai has made 7450 non post worthy posts.
  • Only 0.04% of BehindCurtai's posts are deemed to be sig worthy.
  • With rounding, 100% of BehindCurtai's posts are deemed not sigworthy
  • On average, it takes almost 2500 posts before he posts something sigworthy.
  • Despite closing in on 7500 posts, BehindCurtai has never recieved a post of the day award.
  • BehindCurtai has been sigged no less than 4 times by Faulkston, also making him a record holder in the "Most Prolific Supporting Sig in useless linkCount++" category

I'd put you at sublime/able curtaidude.

My bad... I thought that was the 1913 Bipartisan Siggy Act.

I personally have never (to my knowledge) been sigged. Though I will say that I *am* the genius behind the lovely piece of photoshop magic that is Demeter's avatar. ^_^ So that puts me at about... Narrow/Distinguished?

Some of your assumptions are invalid. I like to think of signal-to-noise more like batting average, where nobody, not even the best of us, rises above .400.

Of course even by those rules BC sucks. :) :) :)

You want me to write a paragraph? "Do you know what you are asking?"

I think *I* do. I'm not sure you do.

It's no reflection on the substance of your contributions to the the forum, mind you.

Sometimes a writer starts a new paragraph for the sake of emphasis, or because the subject has changed.

The usual format is topic sentence + supporting detail.

If we're going on the assumption that Forum Tarting has at its heart communication of something, then it's fair to have the rules of communication apply:

Namely, the best communication gets the idea across with the least amount of additional effort needed from the audience.

Paragraphs are sense groupings -- the code blocks of narrative -- and the breaks between them are not the pauses between sentences in one's everyday speech.

Paragraphs make you a better communicator.

Lack of paragraphs -- typing every sentence as if it merits the spotlight equally (as I have done here, and you seem to do all the time) -- is poorer communication, and one endangers one's own message by failing to use them.

At the very least, not using them keeps you from Ultimate.
