http://www.puzzlepirates.com/about/shots/july5snippets.html

If ye have a mind ye can try to describe what we be showing yer in each panel. The best description (judged on a Piratey criteria) wins a mystery prize! Hint: one of the panels has a subtle secret.

*Starting in the upper left moving clockwise*

1.) Yar, belly up to the table for a round of drinkin games with cap'n cleaver and a fellow pirate at the local tavern. The talk o'the day? Who's got the bigger hook, our Cap'n at large...or the local bar keep?

2.) Avast! He had horns the size of small man, and teeth that could tear apart the fool hardiest of sea dog. But we took him down, and we got the treasure he was guardin too!! Took many a'day to find that hidden "treasure island" but twas well worth the wait.

3.) Ship to ship combat on the high seas...nothing quite like it. Whether it be blowin a hole in the side of that scurvy scoundrel Black Bellies flag ship, or just another charter vessel carryin much prized rum.

4.) Rick engages Ray in a test of iron stomachs, and wavering will. Who will drink who under the table when the drinkin puzzle gets serious? Yar, tis best to put back that shot quickly, yer times runnin out!

"And why is that, old sea dog?"
"The Shade hunts tonight."

Arrr! That's the spirit. I was going to say -- we'll leave the competition open until we have a few more entries... or the hidden secret is revealed.

So, apologies for the quiet on the Three Rings front -- progress has been really rather good in the last couple of weeks, and we have something very exciting cooking for you -- something to play with... More details next week.

best to ye patient pirates,

Cleaver

in yerr top left panel there be a tavern, where many a pirate have entered and almost as many have been dragged out. is that a dagger i see behind the back of the pirate on the right? Cleaver's clever to lure him to the table with a wager then have his goons run the man through.

in yerr top left there be a minotarrrrr. ahem, there be a beast half, man half long-horn. it's said that his own mother, the human of his parents (and much is said of her), not only decorated her boy with his fine red pantaloons and the golden ring in his nose, but also with the blood on his horrrrrns.. ye see, he killed her.. he's not a very nice minatarrrr.

and in yerr naval illustrations we see the final stage of creation coming to the land of Yohoho! arrrre the sails full? has the wind begun to blow pirates and treasure ships alike into the uncharrrrted seas of Beta?

last at the table may be first to the floor if ye test yer stomach against Ray... and we see but a corrrner of the board, be there more pirates quaffing grog with Ray and Rick? Perhaps Rudy and Randolf?

I'm afraid that I can't reveal the secret until 'time'. So the competition will remain open... nobody's quite hit the nail on the head, yet.

Ahoy! As revealed in the new screenshots, ye will now know that the 'dagger' in our art snippet was indeed the tail of a speech bubble. Hah! We had yer all fooled, but Shade and Poobox will be getting their prize in good time for their worthy answers.
