Uhm...is it me or is it kinda wrong to write a love song where the premise of the original song is someone being devoted to a person that no longer cares for them and pretty much told them "Fair Winds"?

/me thinks there must be "50 ways to leave your pirate".

Well, it was quite common to write songs (and poems) of unrequited love in Rennaissance times. In a way it was downright fashionable. So it'd at least be true to the character of the song to write one with similar sentiments.

But Greensleeves is one of those eminently reusable melodies, so it works for me. :)

:) I love educated peeps! Yes, and even today, most love songs are the "ye did me wrong" kind. But for this event, you write how you want to write as long as it includes the two things asked for, its free license.

And after all if it was writen by Henry VIII for Anne Boleyn - well he got her in the end. Given her ultimate demise it must rank high in the list of all time best seduction songs!

Read the entry rules. It states how to submit your entry. You can find the link to the Rules from the first post in this thread.
