Housing ~Pictures and Questions Reply to this Post
Reply with Quote

This is specifically about housing, not furniture or recipes or storage.

Today Yegirl gave me a tour of her home, and told me about a discrepency in her rooms and Hinga's. Hinga has a basement off the lower level back room, and a second room off the upstairs room. Yegirl got her house before the most recent update, Hinga got hers after. They both paid 20k to purchase their rooms.

Could a dev please tell us what the difference is in their housing? They're both at McDonald's on Eieio. How do the differences fit with this:

Housing rooms were tweaked with the last Ice patch. The rooms purchased before the patch are the old version whilst the one purchased after the patch is the new version. So now Ice has an odd occurrence where the old set coexist with the new set. Any new rooms purchased should be the new version.

Thank you Prometheus! Um, so where do these rooms fit in with the categories? I'm interested in how many rooms are in each sort of housing, maybe I need to search through pages 19-21 of the *Hyperventilates* Housing on Ice! thread.

Zarn posted his estate tour in the wrong spot, grrrr.

I'm kicking myself for going out into the alternate universe and having drinks instead of staying glued to my comp. I wish I hadn't missed that Ice-house party!

Actually I was just trying to be friendly to the low bandwidth forum browsers. All those pictures loading for one page can be a real pain at times for those people without broadband.

His pictures got zapped by a moderator. Apparently it's supposed to be a surprise?

Here are pictures of the manor, linky originally posted by someone in the thread on Game Design.

Could this be the cabin exterior?

It's a non-functional building on Olive that looks to be somewhere between the quality of the shack and the bungalow. If it is, then is it possible that when housing is implemented, it could become functional?

Tobias,
curious.

I've seen many buildings that look like the exterior of the manor building on Shatterstone (which looks a lot like the house building on Eieio) and now find myself hopping around Midnight saying "Ah hah!"

I do wonder if the unused buildings will be opened for use, like on my home island of Xi, and on Namath.

Waiting for the update to purchase a Bungalow! Right now, the purchase button is booched, and yes, it's been bugged. I'm just impatient. =/

The unused buildings are shells. They can be built over.

3) Status symbol (Estates cost 3x more empty than black/black or gold/gold Grand Frigs)

Grand Frigate: ca. 130K poe.
Black Paint: ca. 1300 poe per unit, times 430 units for the main deck alone, 559K.

Don't think Estates run 2.1 million plus....

Mind you, you can pretty much spend as much on housing as you choose. A nice, cheap place for under 10K, all the way up to multi-million PoE mansions.

Okay, I stand corrected and will claim my post was a gross exaggeration. But Estates are still bloody expensive. :p

But imagine if you want to paint an estate black or gold, that's 640k plus X amount of units times 9 or 10 rooms (not counting the yard and maybe the dungeon). You can bet it's gonna be expensive.

Those have been posted a long time ago already. This post here links to all posts with pictures and is updated regularly.

Also here are the first pictures of the bungalow, thanks to endymion letting me see one.

Though there's something odd with the bungalow, the arrow pointing NE actualy leads to the room in pic 2, while you'd expect it to lead to the room in pic 3, also the arrow pointing SW, leads to pic 3, when you'd expect pic 2.
