Sword pattern crazy fun time Reply to this Post

Ok, we know that swords that you send to your opponent use your tiled sword pattern to determine what colors they become, and we know that the tiling is as per this thread: http://www.madmutineers.com/viewtopic.php?t=106

My question for the Questions, Questions forum is, why? Why is it backwards like that, and not a direct tiling of the pattern displayed when you mouse-over your sword? Sprinkles mimic the displayed pattern exactly (right?), is that why sword attacks are different? Because otherwise they'd just be the same as sending sprinkles? In any case it makes wrapping your head around sword strikes and sword patterns a pain in the peg.

I would say its because then sending nothing but swords would be incredibley damaging and without disadvantage. While your sprinkles will be much quilter than your swords, you suffer the loss of half of what you send (combo bonuses of course help fight this). In sending swords, while the original and sent shapes may differ, the ammount of blocks you send does not.

indeed. many of the current top swordfighters are dumping their cleavers at the moment to go back to scimitars. reason? well, the scimitar is the undisputed king of swords.

but even the scimitars swords are far easier to get rid off than the sprinkles of almost any blade. if swords used the same scheme as sprinkles, sword fighting would lose a lot of its current strategic depth and the sword patterns as they are now would be insanely unbalanced.
