Deletion of no longer needed pages Reply to this Post

I was randomly clicking the random page button and ran across

https://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Current_Midnight_blockades

As the ocean no longer exist shouldn't this page be removed from the wiki? I posted on the talk page but thought this may be more effective.

Same would apply to the ones below as well

https://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Current_Cobalt_blockades
https://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Current_Crimson_Event_blockades
https://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Current_Hunter_blockades

https://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/Current_Sage_blockades

The basic explanation (as I recall) as to why it's not deleted is that those event happened, on those respective oceans, hence it is part of YPP history forever, and there will be no deleting of ocean histories from the YPPedia period.

It's along the same line of reasoning that an Island is listed under it's original ocean, and also on it's current ocean.

I don't have proof of any rules about this though. I think I saw it somewhere, at some time, I just don't remember anymore.

It's the history of the game and needs to be left. More-so Midnight than anywhere due to the fact it was the first ocean of the game following the testing phase with Azure. However this doesn't make any of the other pages less important.

They don't clutter anything u[, and it makes for interesting reading, so I'd be sad to see to them removed "just because they don't exist anymore".

Yeah, don't sweat the petty stuff... If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

That said, there isn't much there to read unless you go through the page histories. Even then, the blockade history pages should give the important stuff in a much better format. And yet, there are long stretches of time when even those pages haven't been updated. I'm not sure that very many people actually care about this kind of thing.

And even then Crimson's history is empty

I wasn't saying remove the blockade history pages I understand that has importance and the like.

But the current blockade pages for no longer active oceans seems... pointless? As there can no longer be any current blockades on those oceans and don't hold any historical information.

It isn't a big deal just was curious ^_^

The current blockade pages weren't very well maintained back in the day. But I don't see a need to delete them, there is some semblance of history in the page histories.
