Return of the Portrait Ship! We'll be creating whisks to creatively named ships throughout the year. These will be special locations for you to take portraits solo, with your friends, and maybe with an Ocean Master or two. We will be posting dates and unique ship names for each ocean. There will be a whisk on the events tab of the notice board which will remain up for approximately 24 hours. These are NOT free portraits - it's just an opportunity for you to get a portrait with a special ship name. We will be choosing names based on the season, holidays, or the current theme for the limited edition portrait backgrounds. Feel free to make suggestions here. Remember it needs to make sense in the following phrase: "Commissioned by Aphrodite on the fine vessel ..........." The ship names should be unique and not exist on the ocean. We may end up having different, but similar, ship names on different oceans. If you own a custom named ship and would like to share it for a portrait location, please post the name of the pirate holding the deed and vessel name. If we decide to use the name, we'll create a portrait ship with that name just for the day. For a YPP birthday or new ocean anniversary, I own the ships Cobalt Age and Midnight Age on Cerulean. Similar names for the other old oceans, though I can't check at the moment on their availability. That was my stupid question too :) I have a passion for clever standard renames, and like to find something relevant for portraits, but for this I would suggest more of the names we can't do ourselves. In particular, those starting with 'of' or 'of the', or with spelling/puns we can't get away with when going by the rules. I had an awesome finished-memming name turned down recently that didn't fit the rules for either standard or custom, so I'll suggest it here, but it would probably only appeal to a select audience. Concur, I think all of my renames are Standard ones. Turns out I never made Midnight Age, but no one else has either, so still viable. Other ships of mine that might be viable: Jolly Elf (Christmas, of course) Social Butterfly (Spring) and my new favorite, which just came to me while looking at the word Butterfly, and is a standard, woot: Reading Rainbow All ships on Aethera. For Valentine's Day, I can get likely you permission for the Honey Moonfish if you like. I have 2 renamed sloops. One is a standard and the other is a custom. Both ships are limited edition(Frost and Emerald, respectively). Deeds are on Mobettagc. Crushed Candycane - This is more of a Christmas one, but it could fit into the winter category. I (Steveb of Cerulean) hold the deed to the vessel "Beautiful Seahorse" it can be used for a portrait with your seahorse familiar (there's also another of the same name, I've had mine since cobalt and there was one on midnight too) I also own "plundered loot" perhaps for a portrait with all your piles of PoE or Booty chest I don't know what theme it would fit into but I also have the ship "sharp shark" ---------------------------------------- Steveb Drunken Captain of the crew Boochin' Drunks Prince of the flag Super Awesomeness |
