WINNERS POSTED! TOWEL DAY 2012 "A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have." - From the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Did you know today is Towel Day? "Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On that day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour." - From http://towelday.org/ Do you know where your towel is? What do you mean, "Pirates don't have towels?" DON'T PANIC! I'm sure you can locate your towel quickly, being the brilliant bunch that you are! Once you find it, draw a picture of your pirate (or any pirate) creatively putting their towel to good use! - You may create your picture in any medium you wish (paint, pencil, ink - something somewhat flat). Digitally or by hand is fine. - Original artwork only. This means drawn by you, and only you! No screens shots from the game or borrowed images from the internet. - One entry per person. - General forum rules apply. Subject matter should be suitable for forums. - Images should be uploaded and hosted by a photo-hosting site of your choice and included in your entry post using image tags. How to post an image. - Images should be no larger than 600 x 600 pixels in jpg or png format. No animated gifs. If necessary, you may include a link to a larger image. - There should be no need for narrative text. For event information in Spanish, click HERE ! DEADLINE: 6am game time, Monday, June 11th, 2012. That's just a smidge over 2 weeks, so don't procrastinate! ENTRY THREAD LINK: Click HERE to post your entry in the proper thread! Entries posted in any place other than that thread will be be ignored. REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR PIRATE NAME AND OCEAN WITH YOUR ENTRY! PRIZES! The top three entries will win their very own, miniature towel trinket. On our side of the universe, we might call it a handkerchief. Yes, I do. Unfortunately I can't unsee what I have seen. Pointing out that the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy sucks is more fun to me than drawing a towel. Nice event, Dexla. So any kind of medium is ok? So I do not have to draw? I thought about doing a towel day event too, but thought of it too late, so I'm really happy someone does! The in-game question of the evening : Medium I did originally mean "any medium" as in traditional drawing mediums : paint, pencil, chalk, ink... but I will allow some-what flat, creative uses of... stuff. Now, I won't be answering the "how about..." questions in regards to that because I don't want to be a dictator or stifle your creativity. Try to keep it on a 2-dimensional plane though. Even if it's lumpy. Or smushed. If you wonder if you've actually created a sculpture, then you've probably gone a bit too far, but be creative! Do note that he didn't include himself on that billion-item list. ;) Though those cookies look more like uh napkins to me.
