Y!PP Ship Sort Tool v. 1.6 Reply to this Post
Reply with Quote

Hello everyone,

Version 1.6 is now out with the new LE ships added.

http://www.mediafire.com/?20z358b3c8fhl55

At the current time, it apparently only works with Microsoft Office Excel, but not Open Office. If anyone wants to take a crack at trying to get it to work with other platforms, be my guest.

Instructions:

1. Open up the "Where are my vessels" screen.

2. Click on the screen.

3. Control A.

4. Control C.

5. Go to excel and press Control V or paste in the top left open cell.

6. Press "Sort My Ships!" button
7. View finished product.

You can filter the information using the tabs at the top. For example, if you click on the arrow by "Island" and pick Saltstrum Rock, you get all the ships ported at Saltstrum.

I'm getting a problem when clicking the "Sort my Ships!" button:

"Cannot run the macro "Puzzle Pirate Ship Log 1.6.xls'!Puzzle_Pirate_Ship_Log'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled."

Help?

Scratch that, Excel's macros were turned off after it updated recently >.>

Still some buggies. I LOVE this thing.

- Fanchuan does not have a ship size associated with it.
- The following subclasses need to be added:
-- Ancient
-- Atlantean
-- Cursed
-- Dragon
-- Fancy
-- Fortune
-- Haunted
-- Imperial
-- Lagoon
-- Verdant
-- Wondrous

Also is there a way to simplify the vessel ID to show simply the ID#. And can the "sunk=false" also be removed completely?

This is the line I get when I copy/paste:
[vesselName=Active Flounder, vesselClass=dhow, vesselSubclass=null, inPort=true, islandName=Orca Island, isLocked=false, isBattleReady=false, vesselId=1739450, sunk=false]

Thanks for the help, mate! Keep up the great work!

If you mean, show the Sunk=True only, and never the Sunk=False, that might work well. But please don't remove the Sunk=True information as those of us who blockade need it.

If you are brave, you can probably fix the other stuff on your own.

Before starting:

THANKS SIGGY FOR THIS WONDERFUL TOOL

I modified the file to have all the Special class (ooppsss... I forgot the Atlantean, sorry)

I also put an x in the Fanchuan size... Does anyone have a good idea how to use this? for me, Sloops, cutter, dhow, and Fanch would be size 1, or I leave it like this.
In YPPedia, the first picture there are from 1 to 13. If anyone has use of this, just post here.

The Spreadsheet is here

remember to copy your info from the cell A3.

After pressing the button, accept the replacement of data. (I should look some more to see if can be avoided)

This is a Google docs, so after loading, just go to File-> Download

Test it and give a feedback if you have any problem.

This is not going to work in Google Docs or Open office, because the commands (macros) are given in Excel format.

I would LOVE this to have all the owners too... lol would make things a bit easier.

Just a tip for non-Excel users: pressing in the down arrow, you can select which types of ship you like. Eg.: Press the arrow in Class, and there will be a list of all the classes you have. Click again in Ancient, and there will be listed only Ancient ships.
To go back, press the arrow again and select all.

Also is there a way to simplify the vessel ID to show simply the ID#. And can the "sunk=false" also be removed completely?

The "vesselID=" thing and the "sunk=" is deleted, only remains the number and the False/True.

I will not delete ANYTHING. the point is that for some mates some info can be useful, and for some others not... if you want to delete, after making the conversion (pressed the button) delete the columns, or hide them.
Personally, I use this file to check the ships, then copy and paste into another file for my own process.

Good luck mates !!

The version I've been maintaining here already had the fanchuan accounted for. ;-)

I had posted about my version here. ;-)
