Other adults spend their time and money (sometimes all of it) on resorts, car collecting, casinos, expensive concert tickets, expensive sports tickets, expensive home theater equipment, cruises, motorcycle collecting, tourism, hiring "companionship," visiting bars, remodeling their home, figurine collecting, pet collecting, party hosting, online chat rooms, other online games, and so on. This game is just one more option for leisure among many. That some people fall in too deep doesn't make Puzzle Pirates unusual or somehow worse than the other activities.

But if life calls, no game should step on it.

This is true though.

Some people spend almost $20 a day on coffee and fast food. Why is the OP annoyed that some adults like to spend that much on fake dubs or in Facebook credits? Think about how many people waste their time harvesting pixels in that dumb FarmVille app. At least YPP has challenging puzzles that are more involved than just clicking and waiting for time to run out.

Oh, wait. That's how I play distilling. Never mind.

I think the OP should stop wasting his time whining and use 'skills' to make poe instead.

The OP should be thankful that whoever it is he/she is not happy with is spending the money and time on YPP, and not at some strip club.

I think what your trying to say is. we need a pirate stripper attraction building. More appeal to get new players. Plus think of all the rags you could get rid of. But i just thought of those pirates with hooks and other injury's, this plan could lead to a lawsuit.

Epiphonelp, these are people living their lives in the way in which they want to live them most probably use it to wind down after a day at work(yeah that's right, WORK, contributing to society instead of sitting around feeling sorry for themselves because they aren't the best in the server on some MMO that they play in between watching degrassi or whatever hilary duff tripe gets their thought processes more stimulated than "put full stops and commas in the appropriate places on this paragraph"), not a whiny little high school kid who's bitter because he can't get the"zomg ult bilge lawl" trophy. The best thing about this game is that you can play it how you want to play it, some people pillage, some people trade/run businesses, what's important is that you let people go about their business without being a tool about it... so,

Now another thing would be if you played it just for fun and occasionally, just when you're alone and bored. But if life calls, no game should step on it.

stop thinking about what other people are doing and do exactly what you wrote that you think they should be doing... have fun, it's just a game, people are better than you at certain things within said game, don't let that make you go post a bitter thread with which you can alienate yourself from many of the people who play the game which you appear to regard so highly.

oh yeah, and btw this game isn't just about stats >.> if you think that then you aren't gonna get far

Beware. If you read this, your vision of life might change.

Not my vision of life, but my vision of you certainly has.. yeah.. you've gone from someone that i've never encountered before and a faceless nothing to a person who i am now aware of and will do everything within my power to have absolutely nothing to do with.

Well, that's my tartfest done(some parts of this may be in the wrong order). *steps down of soapbox* Here, have it back epiphonelp.....

Most wealthy players on Sage that I knew/know didn't buy the poe with credit cards anyways. It is insanely easy to make large amounts of poe once you know what you are doing.

That would be the easiest way, but there are many others. It takes money to make money, which is why things seem so out of reach to newer players.

Regardless, anyone who plays for free on a doub ocean should absolutely thank those that whip out the credit card (who cares if they are adults or not). They make what we do possible.

I'm a father of 4 who has played YPP for over 4 years... with a wife who has also played YPP for over 4 years... and 2 out of 4 kids of have started to play. Up until last week it was sub oceans, but now I'm on Viridian.

Oh noes! My finances are about to be ruined! Doubloons!

Frankly, if I spend more on YPP, even on a dub ocean, than I do renting videos... then, I guess I watch less videos...
