By 'barrelstopper', do you mean (1) the plug that goes into the hole on the barrel; or (2) something that stops the barrel from rolling?

3) The guy who swipes all of the cooper's tools during lunch break so the poor cooper can't finish making his (or her) barrels.

Some of us made it transcend technique and turned it into an art.

I definitly think barrelstopping is a technique, as long as you don't overdo it, it'll have a lot of advantadges.

If you're "doing it properly" (such that it actually has advantages) then you're a good actor or opportunist...and not necessarily much of a true barrelstopper.

Winning mercilessly is enough to convince many people that you are a barrelstopper.

It's apparently a subjective thing.

I resent that remark. Perhaps trolls are barrelstoppers, but I am most certainly not a troll.

Speaking as an original barrelstopper, it is a technique. You can be a barrelstopper without being an asshat. It's all about when you decide to be a barrelstopper that truely makes it great technique. Anyone can try to be a barrelstopper and get people to hate them, but an ultimate barrelstopper makes people like him while he is screwing them over. It's definately an art.
