Frederico  Ran a merchanting business in green, by this name; But then got a pair of winged sandals, and fame! Alpha tester muse: Frederico Event host: Lj Date: November 7th Description: A scavenger hunt! The aim of this event is to search in-game for answers to a number of questions. Additional information such as exact times, the questions to be answered, and how to enter, will be posted later by Lj. Prizes: * Sleeping tortoise * A pair of gilded small cannons * An outfit in green/lightgreen (captain's hat, captain's jacket, pants/flarepants, fancy boots) * A Scapegoat's prize-winning egg * A lime lily trinket (inscribed) * A green/lime ribbon trinket (inscribed) |

I Spy a Spy Emerald Company was rich. It had grown fat off the sale of Weld and Chalcocite as well as control of a large portion of Azure's ship production. Did you want a shop? Bring your ship loaded with PoE and commodities to see the one and only man behind Emerald Company - Frederico. Frederico del Mar was a demure Portuguese merchant marine, if you believe his story. Rumors abound about this man. Was he a pirate? Is he still a merchant? Has he hidden himself among the very gods of this game? As the days of Azure grew numbered the gods told of glory in the newly created ocean. By turning over PoE to the gods, you would forever be remembered. Flip. Flip. Flip. A coin tossed into the air repeatedly. For a merchant, it was hard to think of parting with PoE but to be forever remembered as a success was worth it. Frederico took a deep breath and typed out the needed command. /glory It was done. His crew was to be forever emblazoned on a memorial in the new world.  I wasn't around in the days of Azure but washed ashore on Midnight when mates still recalled fondly the old days. It was late one night on a dark, skellie-infested island that I learned of Emerald Company and Frederico. I shifted side to side and tried to blend in with the palm trees behind me as mates traded insults. Quotes taken from Monkey Island Insult Contest Sharpton says, "I've seen better swordplay from a blind armless drunk!" Frederico says, "Then it must have been depressing to lose to him, eh?" Squiddles says, "My prowess ... is known far and wide!" Frederico says, "Pity none of those areas consist of outside." Squiddles says, "If only your skill could compare with your pride..." Across the circle another pirate spoke, "Pride indeed, Did you see the Guava memorial? The gods saw fit not to including every scallywag that had PoE to burn. So tell us again about how it is your crew isn't on the memorial Frederico?" Frederico says, "What a pathetic attempt to take me down a PEG!" "I have my plan you wait and see" I whispered to another onlooker to get the full story. It seems that even though Frederico had /gloried his PoE, his crew was not listed on the Guava memorial. A petition had only imperfectly fixed the booch. His crew "Emerald Company" was now listed as "The Emerald Company". "What do you think he will do?" "Bide his time and wait for the right moment I suppose. I hear he has gone blue and will wait to bring his revenge on those he feels wronged him of his due glory." "Blue?" "Aye, a spy! Not all have moved peacefully from Azure to Midnight. One on the inside can go along way. Alpha testers. We need to watch for them. I hear they have banded together, conspiring for revenge." I pondered all this, and determined I should watch. I would look for a blue named pirate that had an interest in finance and shops. Time past; new oceans were discovered. Flags rose and fell and I heard little more of Frederico. One day as I was reading the news I came across an announcement. The oceans now had a Secretary of the Treasure. A self appointed Secretary of the Treasure! The Ocean Master Hermes was in this new position. Soon he'll be introducing new shops on the oceans. Could these be the handy work of a former Portuguese merchant? Could Hermes actually be Frederico? I think I've seen hints here and there. Think you can find them? Come test your abilities to find the clues and answer the questions in I Spy a Spy. Keep watching for more details to be posted! The hunt is on... You have from now until 6 PM pirate time on November 9th to finish this hunt. I've found traces of Frederico and Hermes while searching these islands:

2. What color hat does Admiral Dowd wear? 3. Hermes found some rather unusual "marbles". How many groups of marbles are there? 4. Sorry no dice, but a pair of these commemorate a pirate party. 5. What type of sword would you find Hermes/Frederico wielding? 6. Famous for slippers and sleeping, his wife can be found portrayed as this: 7. A tribute to the Emerald Company can be found on this: 8. He is immortalized for all to see as this: 9. You won't find a crack but you will find him here: 10. What are his initials made of? * Send answers via PM to L_J * Be sure to include your pirate name and ocean. * List the question number and answers. To Win: All entrants who answer all the answers correctly will be entered in a drawing for the 6 prizes. Gotta say, there are a few tough ones. I'm positive about all except for 3 edit: wowza 4 was really difficult. but 3... I talked to some one else working on the puzzle, and she had all but number 3 also. I just really feel like i've looked everywhere on the island. Well I have no idea if you can get him to help make your stalls profitable, but I can give you the correct answers. 1. A small version of him is found here: Estate Agent A doll of Hermes was in a trinket case at the estate agent. 2. What color hat does Admiral Dowd wear? Blue and White A portrait of Admiral Dowd was hanging in the palace portrait gallery. In the portrait he was wearing a blue and white sleeping cap. 3. Hermes found some rather unusual "marbles". How many groups of marbles are there? 7 There were 5 pieces of cannon ball furniture as well as the 2 props in the shipyard bazaar. * This question was not counted* 4. Sorry no dice, but a pair of these commemorate a pirate party. Poker Tables A pair of poker tables could be found in the back room of the inn, in the news it said "Vegas here we come" 5. What type of sword would you find Hermes/Frederico wielding? Stick or Scimitar (depended on the ocean) By challenging the the sword fighting dummy Hermes you could find this answer. 6. Famous for slippers and sleeping, his wife can be found portrayed as this: Rabbit Hermes is married to Hypnos in real life. Hypnos is the god of sleep and is often seen in the forums wearing pink bunny slippers. 7. A tribute to the Emerald Company can be found on this: Star Pin A star pin inscribed with: "There is no The", could be found in a trinket case in the commodities market. 8. He is immortalized for all to see as this: Bust A male pirate bust of Hermes could be found in the bank. 9. You won't find a crack but you will find him here: Shack, Cottage, or Weavery Bazaar (depended on the ocean) A Hermes egg was hidden in one of the above structures. 10. What are his initials made of? Mmm... I thought the demonstrative pronoun was referring to dice, as in:
