Ivfy, Sage Ocean Thank Fuzzy It's Friday Although Apollo has mentioned that he and the other OMs werent specifically looking for praise, I still wanted to use this opportunity to acknowledge my gratitude to Glaucus for holding his Poetryck and Treat contest. I used to write poetry all the time when I was younger and often times, used it as a form of expression, whether I was feeling depressed, angry, or excited about something. But during a period where I lost two close relatives and had another close family member diagnosed with cancer, I simply stopped writing. Looking back now, I can only best described it as a numb period in my life. As time went by and I didnt write, it felt like it became too hard to start again. Oftentimes, I would try, but self-doubt would prevent me from writing beyond the first line. When Glaucus contest came up though, there wasnt much hesitation on my part to try for it. Unlike other poetry contests where the deadline were always weeks away and gave enough time for hesitation to creep in, the one hour entry deadline didnt allow that hesitation to develop and I just went for it. I have to say that although my entry was short, it was one of the hardest poems I had to write. That first poem though, helped give me the courage to write another one for his second contest and then another one, and another one So thank you Glaucus, for indirectly and unknowingly helping this pirate write poetry again. I'm feeling a little embarrassed writing this, but life's too short to forget to say thank you for those who've helped you out. ^^ Sincerely, A pirate through with her eight-year writing drought |

Aaaaaaaaaaand we're done! The Doodle Reloaded is now closed! Results It was nice to see the mixture of contests revisited, although difficult to compare them in judging! Honorable mentions include Thrynity, Pixieboot and Pletoo. Panteraa and Redlucy get a special shout-out for joining the ranks of the Brave Singing Doodlers. The winners today are Yetidave of Midnight, with the wrapping paper sword rack, and Gwiddon of Sage for a brilliant parody of "Do your ears hang low?". I'll also have an overall wrap-up in the stickied thread. While you wait for the results, take a look at the weekend Doodle! Thank you again! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Apollo at Dec 30, 2006 12:41:42 PM] |

Zandia of Sage (12 minutes too late, but oh well...) Daily doodle: Deck the forum I didn't like the cluttered avi that I made, so I made this fishing scene with a star-fish, winter ornament, and a horn near a skull (currently occupied by a hermit crab). ![]() ---------------------------------------- Teh Eighth |

Hehe, someone should release that. ---------------------------------------- Panteraa is drinking and might be too busy to respond. Formerly of Sage Ocean/Free Harmonica Lessons/Tea and Strumpets. Lovely avatar courtesy of the lovely Tilinka. |
