YouTube rocks...dont know what ye are all complaining about. Great speed, high capcity, and best of all its free to upload and watch. Ahoy! I love to see 100 pirates' hearts jump into their mouths as they see my name as last post. That's the ONLY reason I'm posting. [I'm sorry. I've exchanged emails with Taco and a little bit of teh eeeevil has rubbed off.] An update on the judging - we're pretty much there now. Just finalizing the results and sorting out prizes. The results! An amazing number of entries, and again such skill! We so much enjoyed watching these and judging them - whether it was screenshots or animation or live action or lego, you did brilliantly! This was judged by the OceanMasters, by the Ringers in the office, and by the dashing Captain Cleaver himself. Here they are, then. First the category winners, then the overall winner, then the honorable mentions. Best Live Action: Winner: Kingpriam (Midnight). Linky. The final decision was Osira's Talk Like a Pirate! Nicely laid out graphics, great script, overall really nicely finished entry! Osira wins $250 in addition to the in-game prize. lol, KP, I think I prefer reading your response than actually winning a tan familiar myself. Congrats to all of the winners :) I believed I linked most of yours in my crew forums as "of interest" right before the contest closed. congrats to the winner, Althought I think shantbones should have won. Please note the following is my opinion and I just want to air it. Yet again I believe those who put least effot in seem to win. I dont know if I'm going to bother anymore, I've seen some amazing entries that dont even get anything for the effort. Dont get me wrong I think the comps are great, but I do think the judging leave something to be desired... I just cant understand HOW some of the enteries in these comp even get a mentoin. I'm not being sore because I didnt win, as I didnt expect to because there were some quality entries. I'm gonna go and cool down now. Good luck with your furture comps, I'll have to see what happens. That was pretty hotheaded, DV. When it comes to judging artistic events (especially where there aren't any definite criteria to grade by), everyone's individual tastes are going to come into play heavily. Just because the judging didn't agree with your tastes (and not by a lot, because Shanty was in the final four) doesn't mean that it's been poorly done. I don't know how they run their judging, but in the drum competitions I'd go to back in high school, if you came up 2nd - 4th place on all the judges lists, you'd win 1st, because every judge would have their own favorites. Hell, if they'd let me decide this contest, I probably would've given the whole thing to Muffbeard's "More Fun than Clubbing" because it was the only entry that really made me laugh. And that's the kind of thing that could mess up the judging if it was weighted by all the voter's scores for various entries.
