Apollo, for some reason, I'm seeing you going as a ... Penguin! ![]() You will be needing some food, like... FISH! However, you were too hungry, so you're left with a skeleton. .........................................![]() You also need something to sit on, because walking like a penguin, you have to admit, gets tiring. Driftwood makes a wonderful seat! ..............................![]() ----------------------------------------

Shantybones of Midnight. Don't click the links if you don't want more Harry Potter spoilers. Apollo dressed up as Neil Cicierega dressed up as Professor Snape: The pirate costume. A reference image. Another reference image. Neil created the Potter Puppet Pals website. (Bother!) The accessories are a stick and a Poseidon doll. ---------------------------------------- Shantybones of Midnight, retired from active duty . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Avatar by Nemo |

Surlenza Midnight This costume consists of a blue and purple brandoliers's jacket paired with blue and black pantaloons and blue and black fancy boots. The hat is not ment to be worn but is carried under the left arm as a sign of respect to any ladies present. The sword is purely ceremonial and worn on the left hip. |

Infernia, Cobalt Ocean I think ye should go as Inigo Montoya, from The Princess Bride. ![]() All ye will need to take with you to the party is the perfect sword (made by your father, of course). People in the know will tell ye that they have never seen its equal. As ye shake the hands of the men at the party ye can check them for six fingers! When some bullish bore tries to use big impressive words ye can thell them, "you keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means." Plus, your friend Fezzik will come with ye. Ye can have him clear a way to the punch bowl, or he can revive ye if ye drink a bit too much punch. ---------------------------------------- "Who would believe such pleasure from a wee ball o' fur?" |

Rasputina - Sage Ocean ![]() Blue captain's jacket + musketeer hat with yellow feather + yellow/gold fancy boots = Hey ho Bombadillo! If you're Tom Bombadil, you can get away with dressing terribly and spouting obnoxious poetry, because you're a "classic" literary character. Traipse about and inflict your rotten rhymes on the unsupecting populace, you free nature spirit you! (Flower trinkets optional, if ye choose to bring Goldberry along.) ---------------------------------------- Rasputina of Sage Senior Officer and Christmas Ruiner, Perilous Puppets

Tilinka of Sage. Might I put forth Boromir, Fleet Officer and Pin Cushion of the Crew Fellowship? Here we see him nicely decked out in a movie-inspired combination cape (maroon and black), black trousers, and brown boots. (Animated arrows forthcoming.) And, of course, Boromir would not be complete without the Horn of Gondor: Or his baggage: ![]() Alternate image, from the extended edition of the film (not part of the entry, but I couldn't resist.): ![]() ---------------------------------------- Tilinka, Sage Perilous Puppet Artsy Stuff Avatars <3 spinning! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by tilinka at Dec 7, 2005 5:49:54 PM] |

Taken right out from the Key West Party, Why not look snazzy and dress up like Cleaver? The red is accented by the gold to create a lovely ambiance that attracts all the ladies to flock to your side. Of course a cleaver would be by your side to defend and impress the ladies as well as a single rose to give to a lucky lady to make them oh so jealous! And if all that fails, people might think you are Cleaver and you can get a pay raise... Brought to you buy Rappak on Cobalt. Look for more unique and elegant outfits in Rappak's Quid Pro gallery. For a fine young Ocean Master on the up and up, there is no better costume than Drum Major! This smart outfit is sure to attract a legion of followers! I'm a bit late, but... meh. Anyways. I suggest you to go through a mild hair color change, pick some facial hair and dress up as one of history's famous bullies: Hernán Cortéz! (Reference) Of course, if you want to take over a Native-American warrior empire, you'll need plenty of these: And more than a single one of these: Once that you're done, however, you'll get to enjoy one of life's greatest pleasures: Gold! Lots and lots of GOLD! So much gold that you can dance around it and touch it and eat it and... Uh, sorry, got a bit carried away. ---------------------------------------- Empanado, at Midnight, makes avatars. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Empanado at Dec 7, 2005 8:12:02 PM] |

Dear Apollo I fear you shall have no choice but to go as the Headless Horseman. You see, in my anger at not winning anything so far, I took your head off with my trusty scimitar. To keep in tradition, I have since put you in a black/black ensemble of cape, pants and fancy boots. I have of course very kindly returned you your head to hold in true Headless Horseman fashion (due to the lack of other heads as I do not make it a habit of beheading people no matter how tempted I am). I have also kindly lent you the trinket I received for beheading you to compliment the costume as well as my trusty scimitar so you may find a replacement head to hold. Regretfully yours Karrotz on Viridian ps. sorry about the poor picture quality but am at work (shh...don't tell my boss) so have limited graphic editing programs to work with. Credits: Costume kindly sponsored by Quid Pro Clothes [Edited] Note to Apollo: As in my post in the other thread, I'm not sure if the Apollo head trinket which is a play on the skull trinket we win off skellies qualifies as an appropriate trinket. If it doesn't, please imagine it is an Apollo skull instead. :p ---------------------------------------- Karrotz Captain of Marauding Sea Hawks Queen of PAGANS Viridian Ocean ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Karrotz at Dec 7, 2005 10:46:02 PM] |

Feylind, Midnight I suggest ye attend as Gulliver, from Gulliver's Travels. Yer costume would be simple, a tan/white jerkin, blue/blue pants, and black/white buckle shoes. T'would look like this: ![]() As a prop, ye might carry a ship in a bottle, a memento from your visit to Lilliput.Be warned, though, if any members of the Lilliputian Alliance are in attendence, best make sure they realize its just a costume! Or else... ![]() (Photo stolen from Sweetiepiepi) ---------------------------------------- Feylind Midnight Event Addict |

Ok, best outfit yet, Christmad colours, spanish general, immune balls. 2 items you need - 2 Small Cb to be shoved down your pants if necessary 1 ship in a bottle for breaking during a fight. The ideal outfit....well, the ideal outfit for a terrorist party...whatever, cool idea ;P ---------------------------------------- Djs Prince of the flag Bad Company Unless other wise stated all text above the dotted line are entirely my own opinion, and do not in any way shape or form reflect the views, actions and or policies of the flag I currently preside in. |

Pirate: Mirelle Ocean: Cobalt A favorite as a child, you could go as one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! My favorites are Donatello, with his signature purple: ![]() He would be carrying a stick , as he won it in some intellectual competition or another.Second favorite, Leonardo, in his signature dark blue with special iron-coated shell: ![]() He will be carrying his traditional two swords, both backswords ---------------------------------------- ~ Mirelle ~ The Ladybug Marquis des Forbans / Un Aristocrate |

Fancy Dress - contest is now closed. I am so recreating some of these costumes and running round in game with them! Honorable mentions for Kivo's Hamburglar, Deeg's astonishingly accurate Tom Cruise in Risky Business and Idol's Prince. A "laugh-out-loud" mention for Chingis's piping bag, and an "oh-so-close-I'm-getting-me-one-of-those" mention for Raquaetta's Apollo Lightyear. Special "best accessory" mentions to Jyn for Arthur Dent's towel, and to Mongappyton for the Knight of Ni's shrubbery. Today's winner, with a convincing costume and great accessories, is Amethyst, with Han Solo. Amethyst wins a fancy wardrobe. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by Apollo at Dec 8, 2005 2:03:29 PM] |

8 December - Tournament Day! Swordfighting This is the first of three Tournament Days. I will set up a swordfighting tournament on every ocean today. Tournaments on Sage and Cobalt will take place in the early morning (around 3am PST) and tournaments on Viridian and Midnight will take place 12 hours later (around 3pm PST). I might even manage an Ice tournament for Nazdar around noon! All tournaments will be single matches, and with everyone in the tournament using the same sword, although the sword will be different on each ocean. As well as poe, each tournament will offer two lumps of coal to the winner. I noticed how many of ye wanted coal from Cleaver. ;) I'd like to encourage you, in the spirit of the season, that if you win this tournament, you offer one of your lumps of coal to someone else who's taken part in any part of this contest. Shared coals are a good thing. |

9 December - Paint Ball! Contest opens now! Contest closes at midnight PST in 24 hours time. I would like you to create an original picture, using only Microsoft Paint*. The theme of the picture should be Candles or Candlelight. It doesn't have to be the only thing in the picture, but it should be prominent. I'm looking to see what you can create given relatively primitive software. I am asking that you create your own original picture based on your own original concept, created using only Microsoft Paint*. I realize that I am trusting to people's honor on this. I don't mind the size of the picture, as long as it's easy to view. * For FreakyMacUsers, you may use MacPaint instead, but stick with the solid colors rather than the textures/patterns. Gimp is too well-featured, so Linux users will just have to go use something else. ;) As a reminder, please read the original rules before posting. Include your pirate name and ocean at the top of your post, followed by a link to your picture. |
