Is charm purchasable? Reply to this Post

The general belief of those who haunt the forums is that "charm" is purchasable for island-holders, but officially, I can find no such statement from the developers that say charm is purchasable.
I would like to buy a monument for Angelfish Island, preferably with a popup that would stand as a tribute to her ruling flags. After filling out a petition last night, I was informed that a pricelist is not available, and the OM was unsure if charm is even actually available to purchase.
If nothing else, I?d like to purchase a memorial tree, or alchemy tiki god, or something.

I remember hearing a while back that pieces of charm generally go for 10K a piece, but I'm not sure if that's a flat fee or if it varies depending on size. It may be 10K per square. I'm surprised more governors don't use it, but they might just not know about it...

Sorry for the stupid question, but what are charms? Are they like the wells and statues that you see around? Or are they other things like having a random parlor table at the docks?

"Charm" is often a term used to describe any item that a governor can place on her island. You'll want to get in touch with Nemo to discuss placing charm on your island, Heygabe. I'm not sure if you can place charm that brings up a window (like the Azure memorials) but that's something you'll have to ask Nemo. Crazy guy loves his islands.

Just as an FYI. There are a few island in Cobalt/Viridian that have things like the old monster boxes or treasure chests that if you click on them, they say "This island designed by xyz".

Actually, all Cobalt/Viridian islands have something that identifies the island designer. They're not always the same thing though.

Heh. I guess I have mentioned it myself a few times. But the point of the first post stands - placing charm seems a great reason to take control of an island, even if it's built up.

Along the lines of charm, there is no flag fee for sheep, or pigs. They are auctioned off

Here.
In case you were curious, this is what I had in mind.
The rest of the crew/flag haven't talked this over yet. Via the magic of the island tool and photoshop, here's something along the lines of what I was thinking.

Angelfish Before:

Angelfish with Charm!

Honestly, I'd settle for just the notice board.
