No, what you do is have those sloops attached to the side of the ship, kinda like large life boats. Then, you can carrier them in, launch them in combat, and after combat, recall them, reattach, and continue on. And, if some disaster befalls you, you have 7 * 4 = 28 lifeboat spaces. Plenty of room for all your crew. (C) 1903, Titanic combat manual. ---------------------------------------- Re: Market on Scurvy Reef:

i have TWI and i can get the large resolution also. Face we could work together on the islands, (also thought about doing them) and get emerald and diamond done a lot faster. |

how about maps of the insides of the ships, those would be really useful It'd be kinda nifty if you'd do it with a new char too, cause it'd be easier to find the stations, since they'd be labeled. |

I've already done an island, actually. It came out quite well. Of course, im sure OOO can make full sized images of the islands quite easily. I think they would make smashing wallpapers. I was going to do Emperor, but it's all defaced with construction sites, so there goes that plan. If I get the time, I'll do one of the smaller, cuter islands and release it as a wallpaper. Wouldn't that be fun? |

Looking at those pictures I reckon that a sloop should be able to sink any ship, but anything bigger that a cutter would have a heck of a job sinking a sloop as the cannon balls would just miss as they fly over the top unless they were in say the third square when they would rain hell from above. Having said that those big ships look like they would need an awful lot of holes in them to send them to Davy's. Not suggesting anything here just observation. Nice to be able compare them like that. Just need it doing full poster size and the Black ship adding. Some of the difference in vertical height is smoothed out by how much the ships draft. A loaded-up frigate's going to be riding very low in the water, for instance. ---------------------------------------- Amberyl, SO, Cult of the Red Mantis, Looterati Reading the forums a lot is like camping clue. --homullus |

I tried using alpha transparency to overlay the lower decks within the ships' hulls but stairs and doorways didn't quite line up in some cases. Faulkston, cutaway diagrams would be awesome ---------------------------------------- Avatar by Carribean

This picture is 987Kb so as above save target as (very large picture) Merchant Galleon. The Decks line up but the steps are a little out of line. Well, think of it this way: It can fit 8 sloops in it. Each sloop = 7 people. Ergo, 56 people. But the GF can hold 150. So it's kinda "small," if you're thinking of it in terms of people. (by the people-math thing, GF should hold 21 sloops) ---------------------------------------- Cleaver shouts, "I lub this island." Personally I think that TITS are a technique if they are used less than once every three moves. Any more than that, and you're just waving your exploits in their faces. - Flamer |

I think GF can hold 159, unless it's been changed again, that's the max I remember one of the blockades. It's pretty hard to get folks on one without paying them to be there. I KNOW it was over 150 at least 2 different times. ---------------------------------------- Flakcannon, on all English Oceans, except that imposter on Malachite. I think it was determined that the >150 count was due to lag, and so many people piling on at once that multiple people clicked on "board ship" while the count was just under 150. If I recall, someone did an experiment later, under more controlled conditions, and was unable to board more than 150. ---------------------------------------- Cleaver shouts, "I lub this island." Well sure but sloops can hold 7 ppl because the game is set up that way but if not thinking of the game being just a game it's not that a sloop couldn't fit more than 7 ppl, it just can't carry more than that to make sure it won't sink seeing as everything in the hold adds up to a lot of weight. Without anything in the booty chest and the hold I'm sure a sloop can fit 20 ppl or more. /me thinks me talks to much With just pure logic saying that it should hold 56 ppl but it holds 150 ppl wouldn't you consider it being big? Not everything has to involve math! ---------------------------------------- Coachcutie says, "I always wanted to do this." Coachcutie whacks Mistix with her purse.
