Hiring: Two Ocean Masters (Remote, Part-time)

Three Rings is currently hiring two Ocean Masters to provide support for Jade, the recently announced Spanish Ocean. We welcome applications from qualified applicants to jobs@threerings.net. Applicants must be over 18 years of age.

The responsibilities of an Ocean Master are as follows:

Being available to assist players online for scheduled shifts
You will appear in /who during these shifts as an Ocean Master support character
The running and support of events and other fun activities
Monitoring the game, including the economy and players, keeping up to date with recent changes and reporting any gameplay or balance issues to senior OM's and developers
Answering petitions, resolving complaints and player conflicts, escalating issues appropriately to senior Ocean Masters and Three Rings' development staff
Communicating promptly and efficiently. Working nicely with each other to ensure overall consistency and ever-improving quality of service
Helping to moderate the forums and wiki

A successful candidate will combine a deep knowledge of Puzzle Pirates with experience and understanding of how to deliver excellent customer service to our players. Our first priority is to provide coverage during peak hours of play, making the ability to work flexible hours and cover peak times an important decision criterion. In addition, applicants for this position must be comfortable in written Spanish and be willing and able to provide translation support for existing and new content in the game.

A short letter describing your experience with Puzzle Pirates. Please include this in both English and Spanish.
At least two concrete suggestions for how you would:
- Improve the player experience through good customer service. Event ideas etc. would be an example, but other more systemic examples are also encouraged.
- Give the Spanish Ocean a piratey feel.
Your resume in plain text. Do not send word files or other attachments! An emphasis on gaming experience is good, but we also want to know what you've done professionally and educationally. We are not looking for computer skills in particular, although we expect you to be able to use email, the web, and some of our web-based tools. Don't worry if your resume is not a litany of high-powered corporate jobs, we just want to know what you've been up to.
The level of fluency that you have in both Spanish and English, please be specific as to what experience you have speaking both.
An indication of how much work you're interested in and when, what your current employment circumstances are, and whether you'd consider relocating to San Francisco to work full time were the opportunity to arise (this is not a requirement, we're just curious).

Please include your main pirate name and "Spanish Ocean Master Application" in the subject of your e-mail.
Submit your application by the end of Sunday, June 14th.

As an aside:
We expect this round of applications to be very competitive. Please do not be disappointed if you are not accepted, we anticipate hiring two people immediately but will retain applications for future positions. We will not be looking at any applications which were submitted for previous job openings.

¡Hola Piratas!

I wanted to thank everyone who submitted an application, although the job opening is now closed we will retain applications for the next year in case there are additional openings.

Please give a warm welcome to Clotho and Atropos who will be helping us to open the Jade ocean soon!
