Ahoy A quick request: We'd like to hear from you if you have any ideas for real-world Puzzle Pirate-related items. We've recently created a store on Zazzle. You can check it out here: Zazzle! We'd particularly be interested in items relating to your own pirate (hmmmm. Custom!), but welcome ideas of all sorts. We look forward to hearing from you! |

Shot glasses and pint glasses would be nice. I know a lot of my flaggies and hearties (okay, and me too) enjoy a round while pillaging or late-night flotilla-ing. ---------------------------------------- IsabellGrace on Midnight Good Omens Princess of Riot Avatar by Chiichan. |

No inventory to worry about. Nothing worse than having the office cluttered with 500 unsold onesies. Printed beach towels could be a good one to add to the range. ---------------------------------------- Whitewyvern. Distinctly Limey. Retired, No regrets. I would buy a T-shirt that says "Kiss me, I'm a Pirate." Also, golf shirts would be nice. ----------------------------------------

Yea. And not just the originals, make different designs. Set up a system to make custom cards with your favorite hearties on them! That might not be feasible though. Also, maybe a long shot, but I'd buy a lot of replicas of stuff in game. If you could sell versions of the in-game mugs that would rule. Not just plastic crap though, like real metal goblets and horns. I'd buy them. Also, you should totally charge an extra dollar for everything and throw in Y!PP pencils and other office stuff as bonus items. That'd be pretty awesome. Edit: I remember a thread for merchandise suggestions from like '03 or '04. I remember a lot of good ideas in there. I especially liked pencils and pens since they are they type of thing people lend to one another, and they tend to get passed around. ---------------------------------------- Cire Good Omens, Riot

I was going to say Sexy Playing cards, but that's sort of silly. Instead, a Women of YPP Calendar. Also men. I'd love to see YPP Art Cheesecake calendars. Sort of our favorite OMs in piratey parodies of 50s pin up art. It'd be awesome on so many levels. ---------------------------------------- Leif Midnight and Malachite

This is what, try #3? It seems to take off well, then dies out. There has to be some sort of consistent advertisement of the store, and try to get people to buy things. ----------------------------------------

I also reallllly liked the booched shirt design, but hated the orange/beige color combo. I could have sworn someone somewhere (maybe on the Pirate Mod website?) said they would be available in black with green trim and graphics. I waited for that, but then the store disappeared. D= Also, I would definately buy a piratey calender as described by Leif, but only if you include really hot pics of Azarbad & Vargas. ---------------------------------------- Teh Eighth |

I thought I'd finally get to buy a treasure drop machine...rawr! But, honestly and frankly, I'm not a fan of simply "Puzzle Pirates" t-shirt. I'd like it better if it would communicate with the person you pass by the street rather than it would just seem like bearing a brand name. What gets my attention is if the shirt of a person talks about him. If the print is "Puzzle Pirates," what comes to my mind is "that shirt is from Puzzle Pirates." But if it would be something like "I'm a Puzzling Pirate" then it gets my attention with "Oh, that person plays Puzzle Pirates!" Better yet, maybe if every shirt could be personalized (I don't know how to), a person could have his/her pirate profile or pirate "widget" printed on the back of the shirt as in pirate portrait, standings and trophies achieved. (Maybe that could be available during meet-ups.) Regarding mugs, I'm sure it would be costly to have imitation of in-game mugs. But I'd personally like it more if my mug had a design of in-game mug on one side and written on the other is the board effect of that mug. For instance my mug would have a Tankard design and the other side would have a print of "+50 points for each of your pieces in a row you lost." But, that's just me. The postcards looks cool! I love the idea. Postcards with in-game scenery might also be good. Maybe portrait backgrounds as a start. I remember a thread similar to this, and a suggestion that I would really love to see on sale is REAL OM DOLLS!!! If that's not enough include BK DOLLS and FAMILIAR AND PET PLUSHIES!!! PS: The bumper sticker is great! ---------------------------------------- <-- My avatar no longer reads: Everyone Wants to be a Pirate Even Avatarless Forumer ...soli Deo gloria... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Estam at Apr 25, 2009 7:48:36 AM] |

That makes no sense. Either shirt says "I play Puzzle Pirates." Why would they be wearing a shirt advertising the game if they didn't play it? I personally just think the shirts are kinda um.... boring. If they had some of the great artwork from the website I'd wear that. Or some sort of piratey inside joke, like a string of vulgarity, piratified. That'd be hilarious. I think that's probably an Erfan-only market, though... And by forum tart inside jokes, I also mean epic quotes and memes. The "everyone wants to be a pirate..." or the "hi, my name is ___ and I agree with..." I'm all about nostalgia. ----------------------------------------

I think there should be Puzzle Pirates. ---------------------------------------- Cleaver shouts, "I lub this island." Personally I think that TITS are a technique if they are used less than once every three moves. Any more than that, and you're just waving your exploits in their faces. - Flamer |

No, I would buy a shirt like that. It comes out of my mouth anyway, half the time, might as well advertise on my clothing as well! ---------------------------------------- Tacita on Midnight, now crippled and Damned Now all my trade is ball and blade, and blood forever more And the sting of salt and spray, the ocean's howl and squall A stumbling wreck, I roam the deck, at the devil's beck and call!" |

You see? This is why we're pals. "I think that there should be __________" So you can fill in your own stuff. I'm all about it. Of course, there are already Erfan shirts. Celia made them for the Dallas party. ----------------------------------------

I've no interest in the present logo'd advert-looking imagery. A few iconographic shirts would be neat, though. Like a simple row of puzzle elements across the front of a white shirt: a cannonball, powderbag, bucket, and wad or the three sailing pieces or 4 carp tiles etc. Attractive in their own right, and interesting to those who recognize them. I don't want to communicate to the entire world how I spend my spare time (i.e. a game logo) but I wouldn't mind something more subtle that communicates only to people with similar interest. I may be a dork for playing, but they'd be a dork for recognizing. We'd be on even footing, and could rumble on the subway. ---------------------------------------- Background Event (planning) FIFTH Puzzle, Win an Avatar. |

As much as I can't stand that effing phrase when I accidentally let the filters get me, I'd prolly wear a shirt that said "Billions of blue blistering barnacles" ---------------------------------------- The Infamous Feline Pirate Kitt on Cobalt Rehio says, "Yes, O Mistress" |

A few things about the Zazzle store unrelated to "Merchandise I want to see": First, all of the shirts are available for men and women, it's just really tough to figure out how to choose a shirt style that isn't the one featured on the page. That's annoying, but compared to my next issue, it's not a big deal. Second, the shipping costs are prohibitive. $5.99 to ship 4 post cards. $4.99 for a mousepad. $4.50 for a t-shirt. $4.99 for a mug. Each different type of item ships separately, compounding the costs to the point where you feel like you're being mugged instead of shopping for mugs. I thought about buying a mug and 6 postcards. Thanks to the shipping cost, I didn't buy anything. Buying multiple things should drop the average shipping cost per item, encouraging people to buy more. Since I doubt OOO can do anything about the shipping expenses, I recommend you look into alternatives to Zazzle. Cafepress immediately comes to mind. Shopping there shows a mug, t-shirt, mousepad, and 8-pack of postcards costs $8.50 total to ship, compared to $20.50 at Zazzle. That's a huge difference. ---------------------------------------- Polly Hunter Captain of Flocktarts Avatar by Hedvvig ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by Squashbuckle at Apr 25, 2009 5:24:31 PM] |

If you make the RL OM dolls inflatable then you've got yourself a customer. Preferably Cronus, Nemesis or Hypnos inflatable OM doll. So yeah big market out there for them inflatable OM dolls, think about it. Oh and while you're at it clicky pens with Demter on where if you turn em upside down, WUH OH NEKKID! and then turn it back the right way up AWWW CLOTHED:(:'( i know what sells. Also maybe a T-Shirt with like an OM on the front pointing a finger D. Trump style with the words "You're Permabanned" underneath. Maybe sell planks of wood too, that i can fit to my car door when i want someone to get out. ---------------------------------------- Antix

How about one that says, "I'm Thanos!"? Or "I was banned, but my brother did it!" only greenified? Although, "Scuppering scupper!" I would wear. (or some other filtered phrase, I'm not great at cursing, so someone else would have to come up with it) Ultimate dock tart. If I think of others, I'll post, but I would love some way of being able to upload a picture of my pirate and use that with the sayings. It would be much cooler than some generic pirate. Edit: Oh! T.I.T.S. wouldn't be too public appropriate but on a mug... ---------------------------------------- Jolyma Of Viridian, then Malachite and now also Midnight. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jolyma at Apr 25, 2009 5:43:29 PM] |
