Re: Beat The Champs Island Thread Okay, here's how to post an image to the forums. 1. Upload your image to the internet. Emerson gives some good advice on how to put your island snapshot on the web with this tutorial. Remember that we need both the snapshot and the island XML file (that's the file you save when you're working in the editor) in order to really critique the island. 2. Find the URL of the image. This usually come in the form of http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/images/9/91/Howto-ForumLogin2.png or something similar. 3. Past the URL into the body of your post. 4. Put [img-remove this-] at the front of the URL and [/img] after the URL. You should end up with something like this: [img-remove this-]http://yppedia.puzzlepirates.com/images/9/91/Howto-ForumLogin2.png[/img] Make sure to include the square brackets ([ and ]) and to remove the "-remove this-" (that was only added to prevent the tag from working in this demonstration.) 4a. Alternately, you can hit the button marked "Image" above the post body (in-between the "Email" and "Code" buttons) and past in your image URL when asked. 5. Your Finished product should look like this: 6. It's a decent sized medium island but could stand to be a bit bigger, especially if you're going to try and pull off the "manicured lawn" look. . The overall shape is nice but you should remove the buildings and try to round off the coastline a bit more. In fact, this leads into my next tip: Hiding the Grid. I'm just going to quote an excellent post from Yngvild for this. Ingvild wrote:  Nemo asked me to post some tips here. Now you need to find a third ground tile similar in color to one of these two tiles, but with different "pushiness". In this case, I knew that Solid Rock is less pushy than most anything and is similar in color to Beach Pebbly. Use it to round out the square corners on the boundary: Also, you need to add support to the trees and rocks. Right now it looks like they're just floating on grass. Use a variety of the Country tiles to break up the monotony a bit and to make it look more realistic. Keep at it.
