What: New type of Fashion Show When: Wed. June 16th 6pm PDT (9 pm EDT) (subject to change) Where: Epsilon Palace (subject to change) Prizes: Two New Scimitars (black/blue & black/purple) (dock value 60k), one cutter (dock value 30k), and 20k poe (dock value 15k) plus entry fees. The top 3 teams will receive prizes. The top team will choose first, etc. The scimitars as a pair are one prize, The cutter the second, and poe the third. Additional poe from entry fees will be equally spread over the prizes. Entry fee: 1000 poe per team, all to be rewarded in prizes. Now the good stuff. . . This is a teamed fashion show. Minimum of 2 pirates per team. No maximum, but the prizes must be shared. The idea behind this event is to use/fit your outfit to your theme. The theme can be anything you come up with. For example, two possible themes could be "The Princess and the Pea", or "King Spinn and his mighty rubber chicken". "The Princess and the Pea" would be one female pirate dressed in a sleeping outfit, and another pirate dressed in an all green/lime outfit. "King Spinn and his mighty rubber chicken" would be a pirate dressed up as monarchily as possible and one dressed as you guessed it A Chicken. Contestants could also depict a scene or a situation. No restrictions. Each team will be allowed to post 1 short description of their outfit. This description can be up to 4 sentences, but must be prewritten and copied into the chat in one message. Scoring: Scoring will be broken up into 3 categories for a total of 20 points per judge. 1) (10 pts) How well does the outfit fit the scene or tell the story. 2) (5 pts) How original/funny is the theme itself 3) (5pts) How fashionable/tasteful are the outfits. I am looking for 3-5 Celebrity Judges. (celebrity being a Very loose term) Please send me PM if you are interested in helping. Judges can be compensated up to 5k poe if desired. I am also looking for a photographer to take screen shots and post the entries to the web after the contest. I will give the photographer 5k poe as well, send me a PM if you are interested. Update. I will be taking applications for judges until Friday June 4th at midnight PDT. As long as your PM was sent by then you are eligible. I will post the judges and photographer early next week. Please post if you think you will be attending so I have some idea of likely turnout. Official registration will start on Saturday June 12th. Please PM the team leader. The entry fee can be given to me at any time before the contest starts. Ok I have decided on 5 Judges who have generously agreed to donate their time. Judges will be: (barring no shows) Peax Tronstad Sailthrasher Bluthingy Beryl And Diatain will be the official photographer for the event. With 5 judges each team will receive a score out of a total of 100 points, making it easy to see how teams did. If fewer judges show up, then the total will be lower, the show must go on. 9 days and counting. . . . ---------------------------------------- Argyle |

Hear ye Hear ye less than on week until the [size=18]EVENT OF THE er week. I will start accepting registration on Monday the 14th. You can either post in this thread, send me a PM or catch me in game. Pre-registration will end 1 hour prior to the start of the event. If anyone wants to join the event after that time the registration fee will be doubled (to 2k). Payment of the entry(registration) fee is due anytime before the event starts. Some procedures for the Event. Everyone should gather in the entry hall of the Epsilon Palace. The judges and photographer will be in an adjacent room. As I call a group up they will enter the judging room. First they will set up so that the photographer can take a screenshot so everyone can enjoy the event after the fact. Please stand facing down and set up so all pirates are visible. Then one person from the team will post their title/story into chat. There is no penalty for going over the 4 sentence limit, but the judges will probably mark you down if they have too much to read. After this one of the judges may ask you to walk around a bit so they can get a better look at your outfits from all sides. Once the judges are done they will /tell me their scores and I will total them up. I will not be giving out any scores until everyone has been judged. Spectators will be allowed in the judging room if they agree not to say anything during the contest. If participants are caught sneaking in to see their opponents, they will be disqualified. The pictures of all the contestants will be posted to this thread as soon as the photographer is able to get them up. I will announce the winners (and post here) and distribute prizes soon after the event is done. I was asked if one pirate can enter on more than one team. Since some pirates are entering with alts anyway, I have decided that people can enter on more than one team, as long as each team pays a separate entry fee. More poe to the winners. ---------------------------------------- Argyle |

Hmmm I hope this doesn't mean one person can enter the contest 50 different times with 50 different outfits. How exactly will it work? Maybe there could be a limit on how many times they can enter or how many teams they can be on? Fishandchips |

If they want to enter 50 times with 50 different outfits, that's 50K poe (since they have to pay for every entry). The winners of the contest: 1st: Alorian and her team: Little Bo Peep and her lost Sheep 2nd Ameana and team: The Disney Princesses 3rd Whitestar and team: (the four elements *I think*, sorry if I mixed that up) The official photographer will be putting up screenshots of all the teams for everyone to see. The event was very close, out of 10 teams with a total possible score of 80 pts, the top 5 were all within 3 points. Alorian dressed up as Little Bo Peep, while the other three dressed up as sheep. Little Bo Peep lost her sheep, but they came back to her. Redrumred was Ariel, Seaangel was Sleeping Beauty, Alorian was Belle, and Amaena was Snow White. Alice, looking for infinite plunder, docks at an undiscovered island, where she meets the Cheshire Cat. Jalu's Team (I think): The Salmon Sandwich http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zyborg22/detail?.dir=/832e&.dnm=b64a.jpg Pumpernickel, Smokedsalmon, Goatscheese, Capers, Squirtolemon, and Sprigofdill make up a salmon sandwich. They claim that they aren't lunch, but I'm not quite sure what they mean by that. Talonder's Team: The Prince and the Pauper http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zyborg22/detail?.dir=/832e&.dnm=b543.jpg The rich Bonzaii, captain of the Waterdragons, is the pauper, while the new pirate Talonder is the prince when they switch roles. Smitten and Lobsterkilla are the rich females while Yngivld, a Senior Officer in the Waterdragons, is in rags with Mikichan. Talonder and Bonzaii become friends and decide to swap clothes. Nicodemx's Team: Peter Pan and Captain Hook http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zyborg22/detail?.dir=/832e&.dnm=9474.jpg This is the final confrontation between Peter Pan (Mordan) and Captain Hook (Nicodemx). Captian Hook challenges Peter Pan to a swordfight (using the actual Swordfighting puzzle), but ultimately loses. Redrumred's Team: Little Red Riding Hood http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zyborg22/detail?.dir=/832e&.dnm=d22d.jpg Redrumred, dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, goes to her grandmother's house to see Laramy, dressed as the wolf. Redrumred realises that something about her "grandmother" is weird, but doesn't realise that her "grandmother" is actually Laramy until he tries to eat her. At that moment, Saben, as the lumberjack, rushes in to save Redrumred and kills Laramy. Anazul's Team: Little Red Pirate in the Guava 'Hood and the Wolf in Grandma's Clothing http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zyborg22/detail?.dir=/832e&.dnm=c1d8.jpg Anazul's team decided to put a twist on the old "Little Red Riding Hood" story, with Cajtrixie dressed as The Little Red Pirate in the Guava 'Hood and Anazul dressed as The Wolf in Grandma's Clothing. The Little Red Pirate in the Guava 'Hood decides to bring some rum to her grandmother. Having lost all of her savings to a pyramid scheme, the grandmother now lives in a little sloop permanently docked at Jorvik. When The Little Red Pirate in the Guava 'Hood got to said sloop, she saw that her grandmother looked a little unusual. When she realized that her grandmother was actually the Wolf in Grandma's Clothing, she attacks the wolf and makes him walk the plank. Her battle standing goes up to Grand-Master, and she later finds that her real grandmother has been drinking with Cleaver. Wildlily's Team: Thanos's Four Wenches of the Seasons http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/zyborg22/detail?.dir=/832e&.dnm=a654.jpg Thanos has four wenches locked in the back room of the Salty Dog Inn, one for each season. He has Dotte for Spring, Wildlily for Summer, Caco for Fall, and Misery for Winter. It's was a pleasure taking these pictures. It wasn't as much of one putting it up, but I certainly don't mind :).
