Adrielle on the Viridian Ocean

I tried to resize it but it went weird and you couldn't see it so I hope this isn't too large...

This room is the official office of Arcturus exposed! It has a poker theme with rugs layed out to represent cards on a table, and plenty of room to store his bountiful winnings!

Like any pirate, Arcturus would not be at home without his own personalised bar, and full size replica gold helm.

The room also encompasses a bit of the great outdoors (the peaceful garden), and has plenty of space to either work at the desk, rest, or play poker on the comfortable yet stylish sofa.

I have been to the Palace of the Gods! Nemo told me not to screenshot it, but why should I let the Gods have all the fun?
The Palace includes a staircase leading back down to mortal lands, a harpsichord, a throne and treasure chest, a bar, and a miniature version of every island on the oceans. It even has the Sun on a wall.

The image is fairly big. Don't want to break anyone's computer.

Tickleberry on the Viridian Ocean

Nemo's Garden of Eden
This is a place for Nemo to relax and be able to be inspired by his surroundings. He can work on many pieces of art simultaniously and if any sneeky pirates try to come and steal his ideas he can whack them with one of his trusty cannonballs (they're sure to get the message after that!) and when all his work is complete, he can sit back and enjoy a sip from his large collection of vintage rum.

Arcturus's Final Table Room

With Arcturus leading the implementation of poker into YPP, this room is an ode to his greatness. This piratey form of a casino room is modeled after a final table in a poker tourney, with gates around the table to keep the spectators back, a fully stocked bar, and numerous chairs to watch the action, not to mention the cashboxes full of millions sitting there against the wall for the winning pirate.

All good cephalopods need a place to take a dip, so this is Cephalopod's pool room. He and his octopus can cavort in the cool water or sit for a spell on the small island. The door with the curtain across it leads to a changing room where modest pirates can get ready for their swim.

Arcturus's Loft of Pleasure
Pirate: Silverdagger
Ocean: Midnight

This room is colored in the passionate love colors of Red and Black. It's main purpose is to inspire love and passion above all else. Here Arcturus can escape the days of complaints because this doesn't work right and having to recode everything in sight. This is where he can bring his main lady of the day to rest and relax or he can throw a large dinner party or be by himself to regain some energy to deal with tomorrows problems. He also has his number one love in here and that's poker!

Nemo's Studio
by Dexla of Midnight

Nemo's desk piled high with work to do, but also near, is his easel just in case he gets the need to do something a bit more free-spirited. It's conveniently located near the window, because we know day dreaming feeds creativity. Sketches are tacked up along the wall... one of these days, he'll get around to them.
Opposite his desk, a couch, for a quick mental break (nap) or for when people come over to 'discuss' his plans. He will nod his head until they leave, then cuss them out laugh when they are gone. At this point, he'll stroll over to the bar to fix a little something to soothe his mood (need a lime? they're in the corner). Between his workspace and the bar is the urn of scrapped ideas... 'cause if he had a poe for every great idea that someone else has managed to screw up complicate... well, you see the urn is nearly full.

Pirate: Chocorose
Ocean: Cobalt
Dev: Lindworm

Deep under Mount Olympus can be found this room... Since Lindworm is a sea serpant or dragon, I have included a place for him to store his treasure, a fresh water pool for finding his lunch, and entry from the sea. In the other corner can be seen his collection of trophy armour and swords from the noblemen he has defeated.

Jezzeka on Cobalt Ocean.
This room was designed for Cephalopod.

This place for Cephalopod totals to 192 grid squares. It is split into 2 rooms, a Suite Entrance and a Bedroom chamber. And yes there is a door where it shouldn't be in the Suite Entrance. I was not able to delete it so it remained there. The Suite Entrance is for Cepahlopod to do his guest entertaining. Who could want more than rum! The Bedroom chamber is a private more quiet and cosy place for him to sleep and keep all his belongings.

As much as I don't want to clutter up the entry threads. You need to go back and re-read where I said you need to upload your picture to a web server. Posting from your Desktop won't work.

Second, I do not believe that is your avatar. Please remove it.

Ok! Here is my entry!

Pirate: Coconaut
Ocean: Midnight
For our dear Cephalopod :)

My theme is um, Kraken Attack...
See look! It's attacking a ship and the little stools are like the little people. Being eaten. I mean, fighting the Kraken.
Anyway! It's a cephalopod thing! For Cephalopod! Get it? And there is a drinking table in the middle, cause every Dev needs a good drink after a hard day's work! Well, I guess the whole thing is a bar, so he can have LOTS of good drinks ;)

And even though it looks big, it's only 288 squares!

Good luck in the contest everyone! I thought it was pretty fun :)

[Pirate]: TheRunt
[Ocean]: Cobalt
[Room]: Lindworm's Lair

Deep in the jungle at the foot of Mount Olympus, hidden in an ancient temple, lies the lair of the elusive Lindworm. As best as I can determine, this Arrtist has a lush imagination that borrows from many cultures and has an affinity for the awkward but noble turtle. I'm not sure if the artifacts are part of some religon, or just there for reference - but there's a definite aura about the room. One surprise discovery was found on the bed: what I first assumed to be a statue was actually a small, plush golem - perhaps to help protect and inspire Lindworm's dreams...

The Nautilus's Main Hold

OM: Nemo
Pirate: Rom
Ocean: Sage

Being in charge of island-related aesthetic issues, Nemo spends a lot of time sailing the seven seas aboard his sloop Nautilus, which is otherwise docked at Mount Olympus. While a sloop is easy to solo, its main hold is fairly small, so it must be furnished wisely.

This one boasts every kind of container: a sword rack, a bludgeon trunk, a mug shelf, a display case and a wardrobe (where Nemo stores the hamac he likes to sleep in, as well as twenty-seven of his favorite turbans). And a trunk, of course, though this one must be already full since Nemo has left some precious gems outside.

Of course, Nemo wouldn't be Nemo without an easel close to his working desk. This desk is so busy with books and papers that the painting implements had to be put on the floor. Above the desk, you can see the original Full Sails painting, of which copies can be found all over the seven seas.

A few other details betray the habits of this room's owner: the candle tells us that he often works deep into the night; the watermelon is a proof of good taste; the tap dripping a wine offered by Dyonisos reminds us of the infamous OM drinking contests; finally, the pile of bones hints at what happens to pirates who dare criticize Nemo's portrait backgrounds. (But that's okay, he'll bury them later; that's why he's got a pick and a shovel nearby.)

And there's a sleeping turtle, yes. But I don't know why it's there. Do you?

Re: Tour of Mount Olympus Entry Thread (Nemo, Lindworm, Cephalopod, Arcturus)

Pirate: Hawkings
Ocean: Viridian
Room for: Nemo

Captain Nemo's Lounge
Recreated from the Nautilus

This is a favorite room of Nemo because it reminds him so much of the his beloved submarine, Nautilus. It is a recreation of the lounge aboard that fine vessel. Nemo insisted that the room match that of the original as closely as possible. Some liberties were taken during construction to enhance the feel of the room and some imagination is required for the furnishing representation. Below is an excerpt from the first visit to the Nautilus's lounge by Professor Aronnax during the tour of the Nautilus he was given by Captain Nemo.

Excerpt from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne

Just then Captain Nemo opened a door facing the one by which I had entered the library, and I passed into an immense, splendidly lit lounge.

It was a huge quadrilateral with canted corners, ten meters long, six wide, five high. A luminous ceiling, decorated with delicate arabesques, distributed a soft, clear daylight over all the wonders gathered in this museum. For a museum it truly was, in which clever hands had spared no expense to amass every natural and artistic treasure, displaying them with the helter-skelter picturesqueness that distinguishes a painter's studio.

Some thirty pictures by the masters, uniformly framed and separated by gleaming panoplies of arms, adorned walls on which were stretched tapestries of austere design. There I saw canvases of the highest value, the likes of which I had marveled at in private European collections and art exhibitions. The various schools of the old masters were represented by a Raphael Madonna, a Virgin by Leonardo da Vinci, a nymph by Correggio, a woman by Titian, an adoration of the Magi by Veronese, an assumption of the Virgin by Murillo, a Holbein portrait, a monk by Velazquez, a martyr by Ribera, a village fair by Rubens, two Flemish landscapes by Teniers, three little genre paintings by Gerard Dow, Metsu, and Paul Potter, two canvases by Gericault and Prud'hon, plus seascapes by Backhuysen and Vernet. Among the works of modern art were pictures signed by Delacroix, Ingres, Decamps, Troyon, Meissonier, Daubigny, etc., and some wonderful miniature statues in marble or bronze, modeled after antiquity's finest originals, stood on their pedestals in the corners of this magnificent museum. As the Nautilus's commander had predicted, my mind was already starting to fall into that promised state of stunned amazement.

"Professor," this strange man then said, "you must excuse the informality with which I receive you, and the disorder reigning in this lounge."

"Sir," I replied, "without prying into who you are, might I venture to identify you as an artist?"

"A collector, sir, nothing more. Formerly I loved acquiring these beautiful works created by the hand of man. I sought them greedily, ferreted them out tirelessly, and I've been able to gather some objects of great value. They're my last mementos of those shores that are now dead for me. In my eyes, your modern artists are already as old as the ancients. They've existed for 2,000 or 3,000 years, and I mix them up in my mind. The masters are ageless."

"What about these composers?" I said, pointing to sheet music by Weber, Rossini, Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Meyerbeer, Herold, Wagner, Auber, Gounod, Victor Masse, and a number of others scattered over a full size piano-organ, which occupied one of the wall panels in this lounge.

"These composers," Captain Nemo answered me, "are the contemporaries of Orpheus, because in the annals of the dead, all chronological differences fade; and I'm dead, professor, quite as dead as those friends of yours sleeping six feet under!"

Captain Nemo fell silent and seemed lost in reverie. I regarded him with intense excitement, silently analyzing his strange facial expression. Leaning his elbow on the corner of a valuable mosaic table, he no longer saw me, he had forgotten my very presence.

I didn't disturb his meditations but continued to pass in review the curiosities that enriched this lounge.

After the works of art, natural rarities predominated. They consisted chiefly of plants, shells, and other exhibits from the ocean that must have been Captain Nemo's own personal finds. In the middle of the lounge, a jet of water, electrically lit, fell back into a basin made from a single giant clam. The delicately festooned rim of this shell, supplied by the biggest mollusk in the class Acephala, measured about six meters in circumference; so it was even bigger than those fine giant clams given to King François I by the Republic of Venice, and which the Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris has made into two gigantic holy-water fonts.

Around this basin, inside elegant glass cases fastened with copper bands, there were classified and labeled the most valuable marine exhibits ever put before the eyes of a naturalist. My professorial glee may easily be imagined
