Re: Meridian Testing
Well the test version is up, and as expected Mala went west of Virid to place its colonized islands somewhere relatively close.

The choice of placing it south of Garnet seems odd though. There should be more than one interocean, and while Olin's-Ichor made a lot of sense the only other one I can guess at would be Echo-Yemaya. that puts them both in the same arch, which doesn't seem right. Hadrian-Yemaya is also possible, but would be much longer.

I was expecting Mala to be placed NW of Harm-Coch, putting the most colonized sections of both oceans next to eachother, with interoceans around Kirin and Cochineal.

The other inter-ocean route for Meridian is Flyway to Oasis. Saw the chart last night

For all the people testing, if you all put yourself on greeter duty /duty then you can talk on /greeter chat.. Its like one big /fo :D

Makes it a lot easier to communicate when theres only 30-50 people online testing ^__^

Re: Meridian Testing
Encountered some bugs in /bug:

--Link about missing graphics gave me a blank section; appropriate background, other areas of the screen were okay, but no text/no scroll bar to indicate text was hiding out of view.
--Link about disappearing poe/coins/items had same problem.
--Question about account, billing, etc. had same problem.
--Title of Petition Help page appears in blue border as: id="Petition_Help">Petition Help. Note: Same problem noticed a few weeks ago on Viridian with Weaving and Distilling puzzles.

/bug areas tested that appear to work:
--Complaint function; complained myself with a note that it was a test, very please don't bun me!
--Link about ship sinking due to bug appears to work, at least takes me to instructions.
--Link about the issue not being described above appears to work, submitted a few bugs that way which seemed to go through.
--Just typing /bug gives appropriate error message. "Usage: /bug message [reports a bug with the specified message]"
--"/bug testing" also returns appropriate error message. "Arr, a bug report usually contains several words."
-- question about trophies, pets, etc. appears to work, taking me to instructions

--Okay, the question about account, billing, etc. just worked properly, so this bug is not consistent. I'm going to stop testing the links now.

ETA: Encountered the sticky targeting bug in two different zombie frays. Is it helpful to submit multiple bug reports, or just clutter?

Can you clarify what you mean?

Is it the cost per league that has gone up? Or, is it that the ocean is now larger so moving stuff from one side of the ocean to the other will cost more?

In the Cerulean testing thread
Donsmythe wrote:
The cost per LP to swabby a ship on Cerulean is 2x the cost on a normal ocean.

Notice that this bug was not mentioned as a known bug by OOO, nor was it listed as being fixed.

Just checked the above out, swabby cost on Meridian for a War Frig from Jubilee-Harmattan is the same as on Viridian

One's fine, we've received a lot of reports about that and we'll have the fix out soon.

There were a few settings that needed to be adjusted for Meridian/Cerulean to match the other oceans, this was one of them. Should be fixed now, let us know if you notice anything else that seems off.

Thanks!

Re: Meridian Testing
JSYK, the thread originally started to report Cerulean Testing has continued with Meridian testing info, with a name change when Meridian reports started coming in.

I'm flagging this to watch, but having info posted in 2 different threads (not to mention the unified ocean discussion where other people are posting info as well) is getting a bit cumbersome.

Not to nitpick, but could we get a post in the announcements forum when the testing oceans go live or are taken down? It might help to increase the visibility of the testing oceans.

Yes, I would like that as well and some actual testing to be done, not to rely on some of us stumbling across something.

And while I'm here, I am still not sure about what happens with Pirate and Pirate-East. I am probably thick but I dont know if I can make Pirate and Pirate-East roomates, I did try to try but the testing Ocean was down.

Any word on when Meridian will be back up? Been down all morning.

/bug After looking at my map on a ship with charts of islands I don't have on my map yet they still show up after I get off the ship. This goes away after I log off and back on.

So, Anchovia decided that we should test Meridian's server capacity. It did ok, however it has now gone down due to this....

Re: Meridian Testing
One of the people involved in the erm test managed to record what the board looked like in the end before the server booted everyone off. You can check out the video here, someone also recorded a live stream of it.

Don't try this at home. In fact, just don't try it anywhere.

Nice to see that filling a blockade board still crashes the ocean, it happened on Midnight a few years back as part of an event.

Guess the game can't take the overload of ships, even on shiny new servers! :)
