Flotilla Gone PvP (Exposed's Anegada Giveaway)
Date: Friday September the 16th at 1 pm gametime

Registration: Flags must post the name of their merchant ship in this thread at least 30 minutes before the cade begins.

Prizes:
The winning flag wins Anegada Island

For this event each flag will have one designated merchant ship on a cade board*. The goal is to prevent your merchant ship from sinking. The flag which keeps their merchant ship afloat for the longest time is the winner. There are some rule to follow however:

- Your merchant ship may be any class or size, from sloop to GF, it is your pick.
- Your merchant ship must influence a flag every turn. If the ship ends a turn off points it counts as the ship sinking.
- There will be a 5 minutes grace period from when the cade starts till merchant ships must continuously cover points.
- You may load attacking/defending ships to protect your merchant ship or sink other flag’s merchant ships.
- Pay cap of 500 poe per seg
- In the result of a tie (two or more merchant ships floating at the end): first tie breaker will be the merchant ship with the smallest influence ring, second will be the flag with the most points earned.
- Flags must post the name of their merchant ship in this thread at least 30 minutes before the cade begins.

* Event cade on Anegada: non-sinky, one round, cannons effective, alliances ignored, all ships available.

REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS:
- Flags must post the name of their merchant ship in this thread at least 30 minutes before the cade begins. (Yeah it is the third time I said it... it’s that important.)
- Anyone who wishes can send a tell to Snowwalt or Yasscades to be jobbed into our crew. We will be using jobbing chat in this crew to communicate with pirates in the event. Merchant ship sinks and other important information will be announced in this chat.

Tip:
Don’t pick a ship that you will not be able to fill!

Note: For your flag to be able to win this Event Blockade, your flag much have a fame of Noted or above for the reason that you must have the same fame as you would be needing when dropping on the Island to be able to receive an Island through transferring it from flag to flag.

Special thanks to Yassenn for finishing off all the details and making this make sense.

If you have any questions, poke me or Yassenn in game, or post here.

Re: Flotilla Gone PvP (Exposed's Anegada Giveaway)
Saving this slot for answering questions if any.
Pew Pew

1. If pay cap is broken you will be disqualified.

2. This ship doesn't always be on a flag, but it must always influence a flag, you will be having the first 5 mins of the Event kade to get on a point.

Yes you can load other War brigs and protect your own merchant ship, and try to sink others merchant ships, flag sit if you would want that (Note that the points only matter as second tie breaker).

Note: If you want to participae you must enter the blockade in the first five mins, if you enter with your merchant ship after the first 5 mins in the blockade you wont count as a participant.

Re: Flotilla Gone PvP (Exposed's Anegada Giveaway)
So to be clear,

We have one important ship, the merchant ship? And this ship must ALWAYS be on a flag? When does this start? Because we ofcourse have to sail to the flags.

Also, say our merch is a Warbrig. We can load other war brigs (not saying we will, it may not fill) to bring them in to ONLY protect our merch, not compete?

Thanks Yass

Anyways,
Always on Top will be competing head on. We're thinking Brig or Frig.
Goodluck to all the other competitors:D

Sounds fun!

2. This ship doesn't always be on a flag, but it must always influence a flag, you will be having the first 5 mins of the Event kade to get on a point.
If there's no big cluster you could potentially see 4 or 5 ships flagsitting half the blockade after sinking 1 or 2 ships each (or perhaps even one ship flag sitting the whole event without needing to shoot at anyone). I'm assuming the rule is so a ship doesn't wait somewhere on the board for everyone to sink each other before coming across fresh to do their damage.

Just a suggestion, feel free to to disregard it: perhaps remove the influence rule and put in a rule about the need to be contesting - attempting to sink other ships - on a regular basis. Obviously your judging discretion would come into it in deciding if someone is contesting enough, but I think it would serve to be a bit more fun for the duration of the event.

Re: Flotilla Gone PvP (Exposed's Anegada Giveaway)
When Snowy and I first thought up this event we were stumped on how to prevent the merchant ships from hiding on the edge of the board or running the whole time. We agreed that forcing the merchant ships to cover flags would be the best solution for several reasons:
- It is clear cut, no gray area, either you are covering points or you aren't.
- Contesting points is more important than getting sinks in a blockade.
- Merchant ships flag sitting off to the side encourages flags to load other ships and attack them.
- It creates a need for strategy. What size influence ring would be safest? What cluster should the merchant ship sit on? Which naver can dance and cover points the best?

All in all it is the best way to ensure the merchant ships are participating in the blockade.

Re: Flotilla Gone PvP (Exposed's Anegada Giveaway)
Would it be frowned upon for someone to enter at 1k per segment with no intention of helping any flags on the board but to sink ships and not let it be a flag sit?

^this could there be some incentive in place for people that are just there to sink the merchant ships, like a normal tilla?
